I am still 100 % confident this deal is going down. I am more confident this will happen than the Charlie Adam transfer to Liverpool.

No I don't know anything just a strong opinion. But I don't think Blackpool will stand in his way now that he has made a written transfer request. The MU game might be his last for them but if he doesn't play then it will be very interesting. Either way I think he signs this week.

Adam will sign for us. He has forced their hand and Blackpool although reluctant will accept our final offer.

That is basically the case. But I doubt Liverpool have a Plan B. Signing a striker was top priority this January and Suarez is our No. 1 target. I think we'll just wait for 1 or 2 more days before the relevant parties make an official announcement.

I don't think he will need to do that and I don't think he will want to do that. I think this will be sorted very soon.

As far as Charlie Adam is concerned, he is earning peanuts at Blackpool. He probably sees the chance to move to Liverpool as a once in a lifetime opportunity....a chance for him to earn bigger wages and bonuses is very tempting. If I were in his shoes I would do the same. But which other player that we have been linked with since in this NESV/FSG era has put in a transfer request ?

Yeah, I think most of these journos are just guessing really. Suarez to Liverpool is gonna happen this week. Money is not an issue for us but we have been patient because there are no other rival bidders and although Ajax have been playing hardball, by hook or by crook this deal is going down.

I think he's gonna officially sign for Arsenal this week. Very interesting week this is gonna be. Let's see who else we get besides Suarez.

I don't think we should be buying a centre half just for the sake of buying one to fix our leaky defence. It has to be the right signing and some one that will mesh will with Agger. A tough tackler, good header and an organizer. Subotic is the one I think Liverpool will be interested in but only in the summer and even then his transfer fee is going to be huge but he's 6'4 and only 22...he'll be worth it. Him and Hummels in the centre for Dortmund have only conceded 12 league goals.

Since the Suarez deal is done, I wonder if we'll wait to wrap up the Adam signing before announcing both these signings to the press and LFC fans. With Blackpool currently losing 2-0 at home to Sunderland, I wonder if they'll let him go in this window. Their primary objective is to stay in the Premier League and Charlie Adam is pivotal to their cause. My gut feeling tells me this deal won't happen in January.

I am in agreement with the poster by the name of 'Epic Swindle' I believe Ajax have accepted our final offer for Luis Suarez and terms of the payment. They are now looking to replace him as quickly as possible. Maybe they want Babel maybe they don't but I expect the Suarez deal to be announced early next week.

I think worse case scenario is we'll pay their asking price or close to it but Ryan Babel won't be part of the deal. Babel will be sold to Hoffenheim for money.

It's all just negotiation tactics fellas. Ajax need to sell their man because they badly need the money but Liverpool don't want to meet their price yet because we are the only ones interested in buying him and there are no other rival bidders. We are playing a waiting game albeit a slightly risky one but one way or another Ajax will do business with us and Suarez will be our man. Suarez will be a Liverpool player this window...that is a certainty.

That would be the best case scenario. Babel is too dumb to perform for a club like Liverpool.

Van Bommel is only interested in the money apparently. I don't think Liverpool are seriously interested in this fella. Sounds like the Suarez deal is getting closer...it might be done tomorrow or Thursday in my opinion. A front 3 of Suarez-Gerrard-Torres sound really mouthwatering.

The Downing stuff is just a smokescreen. Liverpool made inquiries about Young even when Hodgson was around fully knowing that his contract was running down. Comoli must have had a meeting with Kenny when he arrived about potential targets he and Roy had discussed for the January transfer window prior to his dismissal. Villa are prepared to sell as they probably figure he is not going to sign an extension. Apparently something is going down but transfer fee hasn't been agreed yet.

So, Ashley Young and Luis Suarez will be signing for Liverpool then. Hope both these deals go down before the Wolves clash. And it will be a statement of intent from the owners. Being a former striker I'm sure Kenny would want to improve our offense first. Defensive improvement can come in the summer but goals win football matches and no one know this better than King Kenny.

Wonder if we'll be interested in Gago for defensive midfield. He's merely keeping the bench warm at RM and is only 24. Good distributor as well.

Looks like the Suarez deal is gonna happen this week. He will be an improvement to our forward line. But I do hope Liverpool are keeping an eye on Edinson Cavani of Napoli. He's also Uruguayan, also 23 and his aggresive attacking style will give our attack a whole new dimension. Suarez in January and hopefully Cavani in the summer. But Cavani would cost 30 - 35m at least given how good he's been this season in Serie A.

I expect to see Luis Suarez become a Liverpool player this month. All the papers are reporting it is going to happen. That means some discussions are going on between Ajax and Liverpool. Hopefully it's just about getting the fee sorted. Luis Suarez will be our new No. 7.

I too doubt anyone will be signed this month unless there is a really really good player available in the next 2 weeks that is better than what we currently have. From now on we should only sign players that are better than what we got. I think Kenny knows he's got to work with what's hes got and let's face it, our squad isn't that bad. Just a little of confidence is needed and hopefully a big win on Sunday will really kick start things for us.

Yes, agreed Nando needs better service. We only really have 1 goal creator and creative spark in Gerrard and we really need 2 or 3 more. I hope Kenny is given about 30 - 40 mil to do some good business this January. We need about 2 strikers (Suarez, Van Wolfswinkel) and 1 attacking mid (Cavani) or 2 attacking mids and 1 out and out striker.

Let's be fair to Roy. He did the gentlemanly did and agreed he had to step aside. A nice man but not the man for Liverpool. Welcome back King Kenny. Hope we can sneak a win at OT tomorrow as I'm sure the players will be all fired up.
