  1. Could you afford £250? If we managed to get the money together to make a reasonable offer they'd find it hard to say no - with the money behind the support we could apply enourmous pressure and make their position untennable, see how he'd f***ing like that.
  2. Why not get a group of ten of you together and throw in £500 each, or 20 of you with £250 then? The constitution hasn't been decided so tactics like candidates promising players/managers at election times could be ruled out.
  3. Because DIC haven't got the best interests of the club at heart either. I imagine it would be pretty hard for G&H to decline a reasonable offer for the club from the supporters.
  4. You'd probably have to offer enough to pay of the £350 million they've just borrowed and then borrow the rest to build the stadium. Player transfers would come from ticket sales as always It's not that hard to see how it could work. The hard part is raising the £350 million or more to buy them out in the first place. You don't have to have £5K yourself - there's no reason for a group not to club together for a share but one share equals one vote.
  5. It works for Barcelona so why not Liverpool?
  6. Liverpool FC fans in buy-out sensationJan 30 2008 Liverpool Echo A NEW group is preparing a plan to buy out Liverpool FC's US owners. It is understood the group comprises high-profile LFC fans, legal experts and people in senior public positions. They are believed to be proposing a Continental-style model where fans own a huge stake in major clubs. The ECHO understands the group plans to raise £500m to buy the club AND finance a new stadium. I'd love this to happen!
  7. How about: Xabi Alonso Lucas and Gerrard Javier Mascheranooooo
  8. Parry has a lot to answer for. Whilst not solely to blame for the current situation he played his part in the club being sold to Hicks and Gillette and if rumour is to be believed saving his own neck had something to do with that. He was supposed to have been brought in to modernise the club and sort out the commercial side, how long ago was that and as far as I can see we're still waiting and haven't we recently brought someone else in to do that? If so what was he doing for all that time and what does he do now? Hopefully now he's 'in charge of transfers' he'll no longer be holidaying in Barbados during the window. He's got a lot to do with the stadium debacle, he proposed a soulless bowl for £80 Million that totally lacked vision for someone in his position (The City Council also have a lot to anwer for there but that's another story) and then panicked once planning permission was granted and costs had risen then between him and Moores made the biggest c**k up ever by selling the club. He seems to move with the pace of a snail over transfers and contracts, if I was him Gerrard would have had a new contract in his hand in the dressing room after the Istanbul final - he'd have signed it there and then! If there's anyone who's position in untenable it's Parry and it's inevitable the axe will fall if the club changes hands again.
  9. Hahahahahahahaha, nice!
  10. Looks like Kraft has thrown his name back in the hat: http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_3092096,00.html
  11. Lifted off another forum: The Dubai View Of DIC Having worked in the sunshine state of Dubai for a while, I thought I'd share my views on DIC. Yes, their patron, Sheikh Mohammed, is one of the richest men in the world, but that's for a reason - he puts money in and expects to get a whole lot more out without investing another penny. The Emirati vision is simple, they want to invest in foreign assets so that the 300,000 or so local people can live in luxury for the rest of their life. If you've ever been to Dubai, you'll see the property is of a terrible standard yet retails for higher than London prices. Why? The Sheikhs develop on a shoestring and sell to gullible foreigners for a fortune, promising a dream but delivering a nightmare. Sounds like a popular way to run a football club... That said, if they want to invest a few million in Stranraer FC I'd welcome it, I'm sick of getting pumped rotten in the Scottish 3rd already.
  12. Which is half my point.
  13. The Mancs win the league and add £50 Million worth of players to a title winning squad. Chelsea have spent £300 Million on players since Abramovich took over. Arsenal have a great manager and scouting system that's been in place for a long time. When you look at it that way should we expect to be challenging for the league after spending £40 Million in one summer? Probably not, being LFC doesn't give us a divine right to win anything and the fact is the clubs been mismanaged at the highest level since before Rick Parry arrived and I think those who are calling for a change of manager should remember that.
  14. Lets hope not eh, we need more of that quality.
  15. If you pick our best eleven players then all three should play so we need to find a way of accomodating them if we're not going to blow our Champions League place. If that means playing Gerrard on the right or switching to 4-5-1 then so be it. Blind faith in rotation is hindering us at the moment, we just don't have the strength in depth.
  16. I can't see how a DIC/Gillette partnership would work. If there's anything in the rumours he's struggling to come up with funds as it is.

    Banner Idea

I'm not going tonight but I've had an idea for a banner that someone might like to use: 'KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT AND CONCENTRATE ON RUNNING OUR CLUB'
  20. The Tatooist was a Kopite!
  21. I hope it's a wind up. A public show of support is one thing but burning effigies - for f*cks sake?

    Hicks:

The mismanagement of the club pre-dates Rick Parry, not that it got any better with him mind. The job he was brought in to do simply hasn't been done, for that alone he should have gone long ago.
  23. Is this the depths that our support has sunk to?
  24. Maybe a swap deal with a Dutch club is the only way we'll get rid of Kuyt.
  25. Three is 74 appearances according to the Post.
