Lifted off another forum: The Dubai View Of DIC Having worked in the sunshine state of Dubai for a while, I thought I'd share my views on DIC. Yes, their patron, Sheikh Mohammed, is one of the richest men in the world, but that's for a reason - he puts money in and expects to get a whole lot more out without investing another penny. The Emirati vision is simple, they want to invest in foreign assets so that the 300,000 or so local people can live in luxury for the rest of their life. If you've ever been to Dubai, you'll see the property is of a terrible standard yet retails for higher than London prices. Why? The Sheikhs develop on a shoestring and sell to gullible foreigners for a fortune, promising a dream but delivering a nightmare. Sounds like a popular way to run a football club... That said, if they want to invest a few million in Stranraer FC I'd welcome it, I'm sick of getting pumped rotten in the Scottish 3rd already.
