Could it be that Liverpool have indicated to him that plan A or B are in place - therefore plan C (D,E, or whatever he was in the list) is no longer required?
Nail hit well and truely on the head. I disagree - most teams are made up with one or two 'shining lights' & then additional players. It is the coaches skill that then blends that collection of misfits into a team. (or not in the case of England) Sven has wasted the tallent available by - it would appear - believing that simply selecting certain individuals would lead to a winning team. History has shown time & time again that this doesn't work - just look at the money Fat Ron spent at MUFC in the 80's I think Germany v France final - & would be happy to see either team win - Germany cos they are playing as a team, France - cos of Zidane - best player in the last 10 years
nett result - no cutting egde, X&X playing too deep. not enough pace in the attacks till the subs perhaps inesia (whops - spelling!) would have been a better option to Cese & then Garcia instead of Raul?
I was thinking that it wasn't so long ago that Chelsea had players that you didn't mind - MD, Zola, Guilt, Vialli.. .. but with every silver lining, the cloud - Denis Wise, Jody whatshisface,....
I agree FWIW - seeing him for the first time was like when Gerrard played he first few games - you could just tell that all things been equal he would be huge. This lad is the same. No sure on that - playing Lampard and Gerrard means that one of them (ie Gerrard) doen't play him natural game. Beckham, Carrick (or Carra), Gerrard, and Cole would provide a more balanced midfield
