  1. That would've been effing awesome, actually, but I guess it's better that he refused to acknowledge the issue, even if Carra and Rafa seem pretty mad about it.
  2. Ooh. Is Elisha around? I really wanted Stevie to score his 100th just to shut them all up (and make them wish Stevie would give them babies) but him bossing the game was awesome too.
  3. whatever the fans were singing about lescott was in response to what the everton fans were singing about stevie, which in my imo was much worse. that's a child involved, jesus. and i admire rafa for pointing out how disgusting it is because its plain stevie never will. i get the feeling rafa's always wanted to say something about it, he was just waiting for stevie to have a brilliant display. obviously, he couldn't last time (and one of the criticisms last time was that rafa shouldn't have pulled stevie out because those chants became louder then)
  4. lol did we really? *snort*
  5. I just bought A Season on the Brink and I'm feeling quite nostalgic. Is it possible its still around or is it gone?
  6. Steven Gerrard out of cup clash as Xabi Alonso returns Dec 18 2007 by Tony Barrett, Liverpool Echo STEVEN Gerrard has been ruled out of Liverpool's trip tp Chelsea after going down with a stomach bug. The Reds skipper will now not be part of the Reds party which travels to London tomorrow morning ahead of the Carling Cup quarter final clash. With Gerrard out of contention, Rafa Benitez is likely to give the fit again Xabi Alonso his first start since picking up a metatarsal injury against Arsenal in October. The Spanish midfielder has now fully recovered from the metatarsal injury he suffered against Arsenal in October and is pushing for a recall in tomorrow night’s Carling Cup quarter final at Chelsea. Having been without Alonso for the last ten games, Reds boss Rafa Benitez is delighted to have him back in the squad and available for selection. He said: “Xabi is training normally and should be available for the game at Chelsea. “We are going into a busy period with lots of games so it is important to have out best players available. “So Xabi's return is a big boost.” Benitez will still not be able to call on the services of Daniel Agger who is still working his way back to fitness after breaking a metatarsal in September. But Jermaine Pennant has returned to training after recovering from a stress fracture to the shin and is on target to return to first team action in the New Year. Source
  7. he doesn't live in fromby anymore, right? whoever did it is a great b*****d, considering his family were in it as well.

stripping Stevie off the captinacy for saying this is ridiculous and it won't happen, because he already offered to give it up after Chelseagate 2 and no one wanted him to. That was much worse than this, and everyone will forget he ever said it after the next great goal. Let's wait until Carra gets asked and his reaction heard before we start making judgements on Stevie's character, hmm? (I mention Carra, because he's the one people want to replace Stevie for being *~passionate~*, but all the English players on the squad should be asked) And he's allowed to feel what he wants, particularly because he probably saw the effect of too many foreign players most when GH was manager. And even if we have more talented homegrown players now, he hasn't seen the effects of them yet, which is why his perception is a bit clouded with what he knows has happened before.
  10. does anyone have a photo of this so called "reaction" or anything?
  11. not that this is an attack to anyone here, but i sometimes wonder if such posts would exist if he had been playing then injured but not scoring in between like he just did. because they always happen after a great scoring run. do we just care about him because he's an old player or are people secretly smarting at seeing him score for another club and would deep down want him back?
  12. stevie getting mobbed by the fans. especially because he almost left last season, and hadn't really been comfortable that season, plus the aftermath of the carling cup. in the end it showed once a liverpool boy, always a liverpool boy even if you go and do incredibly stupid things. and there are great ones of him and carra and xabi at propaganda pics as well.
  13. And even if Stevie was being really encouraging, certain people would still take it as condecending. I know. If Stevie or Carra or whoever aren't feeling too great, what's wrong with making up for them and trying harder?
  14. Well Carra hasn't been that great either. And if Stevie decided to be vocal and shout at people, the Stevie Me Brigade will take that as him tossing off and shoving orders while being ineffective. He can't win.
  15. For every good story, there will always be a bad one. Last week, we had that one where he thanked that fan for going to every game, now there's this one. Or there was when he gave his boots away as a birthday present, and the one where he gave his shirt to apologise... Famous people aren't like us, yet in a way, they are. In his documentary, apparently Stevie likes to sign autographs, but sometimes isn't in the mood. We all have funny moods now and then, right?
  16. Can I post the thing here or will I get lynched?
  17. He had a cousin who died. I'm sure when he heard that the NOTW won the bid, he asked his relatives, and HJC. And if he didn't ask, I'm sure he decided it was ok, because the ban doesn't extend to NOTW. Can anyone scan it, everything isn't online.
  18. Lets go pin all our hate on St. Carra for watching Sky Football! And for doing interviews with The Times! Dude, just go away. Take a cold shower cos obviously, baiting SG isn't doing you any wonders.

  21. Stevie and Lampard just said the same thing though. Owen needs better support, say Lampard and Gerrard By Trevor Huggins BUHLERTAL, Germany, June 17 (Reuters) - Michael Owen needs better service from England's midfielders to start scoring at the World Cup, according to Steven Gerrard. Lacking sharpness after a long-term foot injury, Owen has clearly struggled in Germany and been substituted in both England's Group B games before the hour mark. Gerrard, himself a midfielder and a former team mate in Owen's years at Liverpool, told a news conference on Saturday: "The service can be better. "Michael thrives on through-balls from midfield and crosses from out wide so I think it's down to us midfielders to create more chances. "He's had a couple of decent chances so far, but we know if we improve the service, Michael will get goals." Owen failed to take chances in either their 1-0 win over Paraguay or Thursday's 2-0 victory over Trinidad & Tobago which booked England into the second round. Defending a striker with 36 goals in 79 appearances for his country, Gerrard said: "Michael's come under a bit of criticism of late because he hasn't scored in the two games. "But I know Michael really well, better than most and I know goals are only round the corner ... We know it's only a matter of time before he knocks some goals in."
  22. If, indeed you are a Liverpool fan (as you claim to be) were you calling him Stevie Me after his 2nd goal in the Cup Final?
