    Great that even the "2nd string" won't lie down and die and can come back and overturn a deficit just like the first XI. I have to admit when I saw Milner, of all people, goof up with that suicide pass that gave Maitland Niles his goal I was wondering were we really arsed, deep down, about winning. But what a comeback, what a win, what a team!

    Just looked up those first two goals of his for Leeds on Youtube. Blimey, Terry Venables was his manager and Harry Kewell and Robbie Fowler were among his team-mates. No wonder Virg asks him "which number are you Milly" when looking at ancient footie footage!

    He is well on course to rack up more appearances for us than any of his other teams. No-one would have predicted that when he joined.

    A couple years ago if we were looking for a late goal it would all be frantic and flustered but what's brilliant about this team is they have that "fergie-time" knack of digging the result out by sticking to what they do well. I felt vexed when Leicester equalised yet I had confidence we could still win -to a degree I wouldn't have felt even last year. Leicester are very good, I think they can deffo get top 4 given the ropey form of Spurs, Arsenal etc. And this Liverpool team are awesome!

    I don't think that's quite right Leo, was that not when there was a clip of the stewards taking up positions with just a few minutes to go and then Tyler said something along the lines of "if there's another incident, instead of VAR we could have a stewards inquiry". He's still a tosser of course!

    Agreed. And our points total last year would have won the league at a canter 99 times out of a hundred; we are already a phenomenal team. And, as Maldini says above, a few of City's lynchpins have either left or are hitting the kinda mileage where their form is likely to dip. I think we are well positioned to muscle them aside for next year's PL.

    Worries me too; will surely need another mammoth points total to push/overhaul City for the title yet we might be missing a clutch of our best players for first few games. I thought FIFA etc were supposed to be harmonising the world footy calendar and yet CL final happens on June 1st, instead of mid-May, and AfCon runs to July 19, and you'd think Mo and/or Mane would have a reasonable chance of their teams being in it. Bloody annoying.

    But you'd imagine he could still have got a top job in one of Europe's big leagues and he's spoken of still being keen to win trophies -and I am sure he wasn't thinking of the Chinese Cup or whatever. Ah well, best of luck to him all the same.

    Even without any of our lads getting injured, Afcon and Copa America are surely gonna disrupt pre-season considerably: Mo, Naby, Mane, Alisson, Firminho are all going to need a break when the tournaments are finished.

    Was playing against Nigeria today; had to go off on 75 minutes after going down repeatedly during the match. Quote from the Beeb: "64th minute -Down he goes again. Naby Keita is on the floor for at least the fourth time, this time while chasing the ball. The referee calls for the medics....Have to admire his courage to do all he can for his country and at times the spark has been there but clearly far from 100%." Damned internationals.

    That's why kings probably used to shoot the messenger; cos the b*****d was secretly delighting in telling his majesty the bad news that his army had been wiped out/ missus died in childbirth/treasure fleet sunk etc etc. Gutting for the Geordies all the same; I hope Rafa now finds a gig that brings him trophies (just not at Liverpool's expense of course!)

    Maybe Kelleher is ready to take on the back up goalie role, he seems highly thought of.

    Is he? Ah right so. Wiki and a few footie websites have him at 1.8m which is nearly 5' 11'. Fake news!

    Brewster and Kelleher both with CL medals and yet to play a senior game! I see Kelleher is only about 5 foot 10, that's rare for top goalies these days; they must think highly of him to have him on fringes of the first team.
