All these marks out of 10 are pointless though, aren't they? Last season if we'd have got Gotze as well most of us would have said 9 or 10/10. Then Gotze ended up having some debilitating illness that laid him low most of the season. The most unfortunate part of the transfer window is that you never know how good it is until the end of the season, and even then it's not always apparent.

Do think that injury is in the back of his mind when it comes to coming for high balls. He got it punching Lovren in the face, IIRC, but prior to that he'd been coming for almost everything pre-season.

He didn't switch off, Lallana was man-marking Matic the entire match, Henderson was protecting space rather than focusing on a single player. As Cobs said, Lallana got knocked off balance by Matic, Hendo has his back to it because the ball was out left, and Lallana couldn't recover in time. Nothing to do with Henderson switching off.

Me saying they're not s*** and not ace matters just as much as someone else saying they're s***. Ayre is a great example really - yes, he's f***ing annoying as s*** and shouldn't be anywhere near player negotiations/recruiting, but at the very least FSG see us as a massive financial asset, they wouldn't have someone in that position who was running it into the ground. He's done a decent job, improved financial stability over the past 5 years, and reached his ceiling and should probably have already been replaced. This is what this has come to, me having to say Ayre isn't a putz. f***in hate myself. But they managed to convince Klopp that they have ambition.

I think that's it though - I'm not even defending them, I'm biting back about OTT criticism in general, because it's everywhere and it's annoying as feck.
