  7. I get fumbles etc but I don’t get a keeper making such a gross error in judgement when it comes to passing the ball. That pass wasn’t ever on. Even if he had executed it perfectly, it would have put the receiver under immense pressure. All when he had an easy pass out to Robertson available. I feel as annoyed about that goal as I did about Riise’s lack ability to use his right foot in the 2008 Champions League semi final. And I still haven’t forgiven him for that one.
  8. I thought Mo played well tonight, but some of his passing and choices were poor. Which has pretty much been the story this season. Exceptional player but he has been frustrating in a lot of games this season. Something that didn’t strike me in his first two seasons.
  9. Seems like most of the comment coming out of Dortmund is that he’s Manchester United bound, the Mancs have been very confidently briefing that it’s done and Sancho supposedly ‘liked’ a post that had him signing for them. On Grealish it’s just constant and the only consistent link and his side seems to have briefed its his preferred move. ****** Havertz hasn’t been playing that much in midfield this season. More as one of the wide forwards or as a second striker from what I’ve seen.
  10. Certainly looks like they’re getting Grealish and Sancho.
  11. Think the player he may have been talking about was Chukwueze from Villarreal. We been quite strongly linked several times.
  12. Spanish papers linking us with Coutinho. Again.
  13. There was a suggestion yesterday that we're not after Cantwell, which is the second time that message has been pushed. Think it came via Bad News Pearce. I don't think we'll get Sancho either. I just think we should be trying to sign him, even at some of the figures mentioned (the 'slightly' more affordable €140m transfer fee and £200k per week seem to be the most commonly used figures). You're right that it is moot at this point, but personally I find the exchange of views of this subject interesting.
  14. I think he is potentially that good. Him and Mbappe would seem to be the 'generational' talents coming through. His stats are amazing already. 12 goals and 14 assists in the Bundesliga last season. 14 and 14 already this season. He's still 19.
  15. I think that's kinda the point though... would you pay that to sign the next Messi/ Ronaldo?
  16. We have. We tried to sign him when he was still a youth teamer back in 2016. We seem to have been monitoring him since.
  17. I’ve seen very little of him but he’s getting really positive notices. Being hyped as the next great export from Lyon. Good workrate, passing and dribbling. Here’s the obligatory YouTube clip. Maybe a less physical Gini, but with a better passing range? https://youtu.be/SHoEfHAW_Lo
  18. I’d like us to get Sancho ahead of Werner, even if the signs are pointing the other way. One of our current problems is getting through teams who are parking the bus/ using a low block, etc. We’re coming up against that a lot. Previously we’ve used a touch of magic (usually) from one of the front three to unlock those defences. Sancho has that in him too. Great close control and not just reliant on pace to beat his man. Seen a good bit of him beating players with little to no space in the box. Plus he has the ability to play either wing or potentially as a 10. That’s the player he is now and you can see with the right coaching he’ll be a worldie. Werner is excellent, but I think he’s more physically effective than subtle. I think we need more subtlety in this side. ****** The possible Lallana replacement for the ‘creative midfielder’ role, I reckon its Aouar from Lyon we’re after.
  19. Cheers. A source he seems to be using more and more
  20. Anyone else a bit surprised with Carragher suggesting we’d sell Salah for £130m? Where did that come from?
  21. Ha! I reckon I could live with that. If my role is to be the sacrifice to the mockering gods then so be it.
  22. Was thinking throughout the game on Sat that I hope we’re not in for Cantwell. Thought he flattered to deceive... some nice touches but largely ineffectual and goes down under the slightest provocation. I think a few people have written about Maddison having a ‘Manchester United face’. I thought Cantwell was very Spurs.
  23. Well this is their second UEFA punishment so how about Mancheater Cheaty? Hand them out like they do stars for World Cup wins.
  24. In theory, the wage issue could be got around via ‘signing on fee’. I reckon the current front 3 will be talking new contracts again next season regardless.
  25. There’s a massive amount of rewriting of history going on there by Michael Owen. I still remember there were quotes from him and his agent throughout the previous season about ‘there’s no rush on the contract’. It was definitely being wound down and he definitely didn’t take any action to stop that. There’s also no way he was planning on going to Real for just one season as he makes out in that podcast. I’m sure he may have changed his mind fairly quickly but when he signed his contract I really don’t think he was expecting to be making a return the following summer. The other thing I remember about the Newcastle deal, was how prominent a role Shearer played in it all. A player who had the same agent as Owen. Interesting that at that time Newcastle had such insight as to how they could get this deal over the line and potentially outflank Liverpool... given the Owen claims he told them he didn’t want to go there. Oh and for all his ‘love’ for the club he more or less admits he signed for the Mancs thinking ‘well feck ye then’. He clearly lost some of his explosive pace but I can remember the purple patch he had in 2002 or 2003 when for about half a season he couldn’t be stopped. He was unplayable. He was ghosting past players at close proximity in the box. He may not have had the same raw attributes by then, but he was certainly a better player.
