  1. His best games for us were at wing back
  2. Same reason Ronaldo left United for them. But I don't see it myself as would expect Real to go for a 'bigger name' like Neymar, Mbappe etc. There's no way we're letting Mane go for less than Coutinho went for either surely.
  3. Is there definite interest from Real? Really hope not as he'll probably want to go.

  5. Good team. Same as against Burnley.
  6. They're 2nd to Benfica in the league. And Bayern beat Benfica 2-0 and 5-1. So, not great I reckon.
  7. I'd go with the same team as v Burnley
  8. Such a great draw for us. And City too (obv).
  9. YES!! GET IN
  10. That's true but it's unlikely they'd all be missing at the same period. Gomez has missed more than half the season (which hopefully won't happen again) and I think we've only had to use a 5th choice to play centre back once? I'm not against bringing in another defender with potential but wouldn't be spending much of the transfer budget on it when there's plenty we could do at the other end.
  11. Yeah we’re fine at centre back. Wouldn’t even consider spending money there in the summer unless Lovren leaves. Still can’t wait for Gomez to be back though.
  12. I just want to avoid City. Obv would prefer Porto or Ajax but I won’t be too bothered as long as we don’t get City. They’ve had the easiest cup draws you’ll ever see this season mind so they’ll probably get Porto anyway.
  13. Not a bad performance for a European away but some of the passing has been really poor.
  14. Blatant foul on Allison but Matip’s heading is absolutely woeful for a centre back
  15. He’s the best centre back I’ve ever seen (I’m 35 so didn’t watch Hansen, Lawrenson etc). Not just for Liverpool either.
  16. I don't think it was a pen as obviously wasn't intentional and I'm not sure what else he could have done. I don't think he was deliberately making himself bigger. I'm not that surprised it was given though. It wouldn't happen here but in the Champions League they seem to give handball a lot more frequently, regardless of intent.
  17. I'm not confident of winning the league, haven't been since City away tbh, but if you look at the fixtures, you can't imagine us dropping many points. We have 4 of the easiest (on paper) aways you could ever hope for. And I expect us to win all our home games. We are struggling a bit but at least we're not conceding goals so it isn't going to take much to turn these draws into wins you'd hope.
  18. Origi out for Firmino and Henderson/Wijnaldum out for Keita. We desperately need some creativity in midfield and the only option is to hope Keita has a good run of form (there were some promising signs a few weeks ago).
  19. Yeah we shouldn’t be going to Goodison without an attacking midfielder, or at least one capable of a few goals, on the pitch. It’s so reliant on the front three playing well and there’s been a few games this season where they haven’t and we’ve dropped points because of it. What’s happened to Keita? He hasn’t exactly been brilliant but he was looking like he was coming into a bit of form and now Lallana is coming on ahead of him. I’d prob try and get him in the side for the rest of the season now as we really don’t need to be putting out such a conservative midfield with all the tricky aways done.
  20. Agreed. If one of them moves on then fine but having Matip as 3rd/4th choice is absolutely fine. He's playing well at the moment, can't criticise him at all. Still can't wait to have Gomez back in the side though.
  21. Me too. Don't see any need to move him into midfield. In a few years he could be the best right back in Europe. He's not playing right back in a Houllier/George Graham side. He's further forward than the midfielders a lot of the time. He probably gets more of the ball and gets to be more creative where he is now than he would being moved into midfield.
  22. He’ll be talked about as the best midfielder in the league next season. He’s brilliant.
  23. I haven't been that confident since City away but gives me a little bit of optimism to see how many tricky games they have left. Bournemouth, Palace, Burnley and Man Utd all away. Could easily drop points in a few of those. Plus Tottenham at home... Any word on how long Fernandinho is out for yet?
  24. Definitely. Especially as Milner is on a yellow too.
