  1. Reina - Fine Agger, Kromkamp - Dunno yet. Pleased Agger is meant to be a 'ball playing defender' for what it's worth. Zenden - Ok for a free. Won't be arsed if he leaves in the summer. Crouch - Good player on his day but needs a goalscorer (or at least more support) up there along with him. Sissoko - Good signing, plenty of potential but right now can be frustrating Fowler - Was made up but dunno yet whether that was based solely on sentimental reasons
  2. Personally I'd like to see Agger start a few games for the first team. Our distribution from there has been woeful recently.
  3. I'm not saying tiredness isn't part of the reason but at least 5 of these extra games we've played have been against a bunch of part-time farmers. Infact we played them instead of friendlies at the start of the season.
  4. Ah well. Back to checking on Spurs' results every weekend.
  5. Arsenal 1-1 Bolton Aston Villa 1-1 Newcastle Everton 1-0 Blackburn Fulham 2-1 West Brom Middlesbrough 0-2 Chelsea Portsmouth 1-3 Man Utd Wigan 1-1 Liverpool Man City 2-1 Charlton Sunderland 0-1 Tottenham West Ham 1-0 Birmingham
  6. Well I don't really want any changes so probably not the best person to ask. Don't you think it would be a bit of a farce to see a team just get the ball, launch into the stand then stare at the referee waiting for a verdict? Then, a minute after it's happened, the crowd celebrate if it's given... I can't think of any alternatives to be fair but it's not exactly perfect...
  7. Is that meant to sound convincing? I obviously know that could be done but the idea of players running around for a minute or two while a goal might have already been scored doesn't exactly sound ideal to me.
  8. I wouldn't want anything brought in. Mainly because of what may seem like a daft reason but what would you talk about? Controversy is part of football. Also I'm quite sure that at first it would be goal line technology, then it would go to penalties, then something else. Before you knew it, it'd be all over the place. Also, Cobs, I don't see how you can play on after a goal line decision. What if the other team goes up the other end and wins a penalty? Or worse, scores? What then? A goal to each side?
  9. So what if they've 'bought' their way to success. Even though that's ignoring the work Mourinho has done. Since when has the Premiership ever been a level playing field financially for all the clubs involved? It hasn't. We weren't too bothered when we could outbid most other clubs for players. It's frustrating but I really don't see the point in moaning about it constantly. They love how much it winds us up.
  10. I'm hoping we can put in a good performance as we've been below par for about a month now but you're right, a win is all that matters. Can't afford to drop any points in this one. Especially with Wigan away and Arsenal coming up.
  11. Well, it's not right really. We do have players who dive and have hit the deck of nothing before and we also have one or two who wave an imaginary card about.

    Reina

No point really. He raised his hands so sadly, even though he barely touched him, there's not a chance it'd be reduced to a yellow. In 10 years time there'll be red cards dished out for looking at an opponent aggressively. And worse...
  13. If we were after Simao for about £10m then we obviously do have money. Benitez has had a decent amount to spend since he's been here (even moreso if he really did approve the Cisse transfer) and he's obviously got a bit more left, there just wasn't the 'right' player available in the transfer window just gone.
  14. Nah. I'm sure Sissoko has done something very similar this season. And if he's such a hard case, why does he constantly dive? Oh and yes, I am ashamed at such behaviour but no point denying it happens.
  15. Robben's a prick but let's face it someone like Sissoko or Garcia would have probably done the exact same thing. And probably have done in the past.
  16. The closest player to most of his flicks in the first half was Riise, who was on the left wing, cutting in. It's a pity we tend to hit it long so often when nothing much comes of it most of the time.
  17. If we're so skint how come we tried to sign Simao? Who wasn't exactly cheap.

    Reina

Riley won't bother. Technically, he raised his hands so case closed as far as the referee is going to be concerned. Even though he barely touched his face. Reina should know better but I would still gladly love to see Robben have his head stamped on repeatedly. Ferguson nearly breaks someone's ribs and gets a 3 game ban. Reina touches someone's neck and gets the same. If that's the case he should have gone back and laid the nobead out and made it worthwhile.
  19. No. It's not as if we came back from Japan and everything went wrong. We came back and won three straight games in a row, including games against Newcastle and Everton. Our performances have dipped since Bolton, in my opinion. That's 7 games now so hopefully we can kick on again. Although I think some of the players are pretty tired at the moment so it's perhaps unlikely...
  20. Well, I'm not too gutted to be honest. I thought we'd lose 2-0 before the game and we did. Our record at Stamford Bridge is abysmal and that was before they were as good a side as they are now. Still, it's a bit frustrating that we can probably edge it in overall play for large parts of the game, in the first half anyway, but go in at half time losing. The problem with Chelsea is that they very rarely make basic errors at the back and we've made a couple today that have cost us. It was the same old story though in terms of us going forward. Any chances we did manage to create weren't put away. Our strikers (well, just Crouch in this case and he's probably the worst culprit) don't seem to anticpate or attack anything. Also, the other thing is that I hope we start using Agger a fair bit from now until the end of the season. Our distribution from the back is woeful at times.
  21. Gerrard was quite comfortably one of our better players today. To say he didn't look 'arsed' is ridiculous considering we'd have lost 3-0 if it wasn't for his tackle on Robben at the end, despite the game already being over. He also created the best chance of the game. Just a pity our strikers never seem to anticipate anything.

    Reina

I'd love to stamp on Robben's neck.
  23. Crouch and Fowler. If you've watched the last few games you couldn't possibly want Morientes to start and as 'Red Mist' said, against quick defenders, Cissé does absolutely nothing most of the time (like against Ferdinand, for example).
  24. I remember it was in the papers that Madrid may use him to get Owen, when they part-owned him. But I doubt that was realistic, considering the fee he eventually left for. A year or two earlier though, I'm sure it was Eto'o who said he'd love to play alongside Owen.
  25. Ok
