  1. He's no Jean Carlos Chera
  2. Most homes yes. And it is nearly always crap. In the league anyway.
  3. It was crap, as usual
  4. Maybe so but there's not a chance he'd cost that much. Owen left for £8m when he had 12 months on his contract and he's clearly worth a lot more than that.
  5. They've knocked us out on the last 8 occasions (or something similar) that we've met in the FA Cup apparently.
  6. £12m a year.
  7. Morientes just lost his balance but it was definitely not a penalty.
  8. Best pundit around I think
  9. Funny video. Only someone extremely sad and/or bitter would get worked up about that.
  10. 'chavs' But yeah it's a great run in for us. Although I think we'll finish 3rd.
  11. It's a forum
  12. You're right, they have done quite little. Crouch should be much more aggressive and start attacking crosses instead of holding back all the time, Cissé isn't good enough anyway but as for Fowler, he's only been here a couple of games so there's no point really analysing him too much yet.
  13. No, far from it. And despite playing he well he could still do with a better end product I think. People are going to be harsher on Morientes from now on but that's his own fault. Kewell at the moment is playing quite well so if he does something wrong, people aren't going to criticise him too much. It's only natural. If you're not doing anything right all game though, then it's different. And for the record, I don't think it was that bad a miss. It's quite a difficult technique keeping the ball down from a chance like that but once he'd done the hard bit, he probably should have scored. But not the worst thing I've seen by any stretch.
  14. It's a forum, what difference does it make? Morientes has had decent service since he's been here from time to time but he's done very little with it.
  15. He's 'fair game' because he has been, by and large, s**** since signing for us, bar the odd decent game. It's not as if this criticism is undeserved, far from it. At least Kewell has probably been our best player for the last month or two.
  16. You're right about that, 14 defeats in 5 and a half years. Impressive...
  17. My first reaction was that he'd done well to keep it on target and the keeper had made a great save. Looking at the replay though, he only needed to put it a few yards to the left or right and he would have scored, as it was straight at the keeper and you'd expect him to save it. Should have scored but not the worst miss I've ever seen.
  18. I think the players have looked tired recently but I don't know if that's because I've been expecting it to happen. As has been pointed out though, we've only really played four games more at the start of the season than normal. And they were against really poor opposition, in particular the first two. We also rotated a fair bit, using players like Potter, Whitbread, Zenden and Josemi in those matches. Plus they did replace normal pre-season friendlies. And I doubt that trip to Japan has really had that much of an affect to be honest.
  19. Has he scored for them yet?
  20. Like against Birmingham for example Not for me yet. But I'd have him (fitness depending) ahead of Cissé and Morientes, even if he has only played an hour and a half of footy for us.
  21. Scrappy game on a terrible pitch so a good result and a half-decent performance considering the circumstances. The defence was fine, Hamann and Fowler also stood out.
  22. I'd like to see cheating clamped down on too but we'd be getting punished just as regularly as most other teams. And I wouldn't exactly call it the 'cancer'. There's plenty of worse things in football. Like money, and in particular how it's distributed between the larger and smaller clubs. But I doubt we'll be complaining about that.
  23. That kick to the face is ridiculous. So is Gerrard's tackle actually.
  24. Owen would be my number one choice. Failing that, I'd go for Defoe if he was available for a not-too-ridiculous price. Haven't seen enough of the likes of Kuyt to comment and Tevez etc is just plain unrealistic.
