  4. I just don't know how he'll fit them all in. I know it's a squad game, blah blah blah but Alonso, Momo and Gerrard give us so much I don't know how they'll fit into a 442 unless Gerrard is on the right again which begs the question what do we do with Pennant for the majority of the games - bring him off the bench?
  5. I really rate Crouchie and the only important thing he lacks is pace which is a shame because his touch is good enough to find a yard - he needs to work on his movement so that when he receives the ball he can make use of that first touch to create a shooting or assist opportunity potentially further up the pitch.

  7. I assume you're being ironic cause I can assure you that absolutely nobody anywhere outside of a clubs board of directors has a clue what their budget is - everything we see on t'net is pure speculation.

  9. So what happens to the clubs that were relagted from Serie A last year? Do 3 of them get to keep their places or is the whole division going to have reduced numbers?
  10. I'm guessing that they would also pay a "fee" of somekind to Juve. Example we pay the £60k weekly wage for Trez and we also pay another £60k a week to Juve as a rental fee. Just my thoughts...

    Alves

I stand humbly corrected - his transfer fee was $19.5m or approx £11m. I'd still expect him to go for more than that though and I still don't think that Seville would be the type of club he'd go to

    Alves

I know you're only repeating what you heard but that is absolute bull! Tevez would cost upwards of £25m alone (bearing in mind he only moved a year ago for £22m and has been a success) and there's no way that a) Seville are the kind of club that would/could spend £25m on a player regardless of what they might get for Alves and b) they are not the kind of club that would attract a £25m player. There are only a handful of those "type" of clubs in Europe.
  14. It was me and at the Brazil game they were serving German beer. However my mate who came with me to that game was surprised as he'd seen Sweden vs Trinidad a week or so earlier at Dortmund and said that they were only serving Bud within a certain radius of the ground (1/4 mile, 3 miles I can't remember).

  16. methinks a lot of you are overlooking Torres' goal which was a great finish at the end of a great move 1 Cambiasso 2 Rodgerregus 3 Torres Is the correct answer Ithankyou
  17. I didn't think he signed the contract and the great internet has City looking for £3m for him....

  19. I saw Brazil vs Japan in Dortmund which is a fantastic ground (it was where the Germany Italy semi was the other night). Best pre game atmosphere ever. Note I did say PRE game. Everybody drinking and dancing and singing together outside the ground in all of these little bar areas that they set up with fit birds serving drinks, plasmas showing old footie and stereos playing "carnival" type music. It was great - loads of people dressed up easy to get in and out of it was great. Anyone else?
  20. I really thought we'd get £9-10m for him I can't believe he'll go for less than Andy Johnson ffs.
  21. Whilst I agree wholeheartedly with the original post I just wanted to reply to a couple of things implied in the responses that are commonly banded around. 1/ If Abramovich leaves Chelsea they won't be in the lurch. Why would they be? They'll have all those players on their books and no debts.... Sure they wouldn't be able to spend like they have done but they'd be fine and better off than 95% of the Premiership/Europe it's not as though they're a small club anymore and they weren't for 5yrs or so before he turned up. 2/ They're not spending outside of their means. C'mon the Russian's worth $7bn last time I looked and he doesn't give a f*** about the books whilst this is his number one plaything. If they get close to spending $5bn then maybe we can say it but as they're not playing by the same rules as the rest of us you can't judge them by the same rules.
  22. I thought it was made for Carra to fail last night but I thought he played the role really well - very defensive but really well. Walcott was woeful when he came on he didn't trap a single ball and the only thing he did was a cross along the ground. How anyone could give him the same mark as Crouch or for that matter Carra is beyond me. Oh and Hargreaves was embarrisngly bad - a few times he just watched play go past him and a couple of times he didn't communicate at all with the players around him. Finally Ferdinand's passing was f***ing atrocious he should be made to sit and let Terry go forwards who was far more composed and intelligent with his runs than Ferdinand was.

  24. I don't think Setanta have any "first choice" games as part of the packages they've won. Whilst I'm sure we the consumers will end up paying more it is worth remembering that the clubs will be getting significantly more money from this deal than the current deal.
  25. Aye Tevez is a cracking player. Reminds me a lot of Rooney to be fair - quite short but very stocky No 10 sort of player.
