firstly, let me say that i'd rather have this banner than no banner. it's fantastic to see fanpower at work in these times of corporate sterility. whatever everyone's views on it, it's a credit to the fans and club that there will be the opportunity to trumpet our love of the team. from a design point of view, there's clearly been a lot of thought and creativity put into it and hats off for that i can see where tomski's coming from - though maybe his language is harsher than it might be. for me - as an OOTer - the liverbird has always stood proud and unbowed. and that to me suggests dignity and defiance. i too find this golden liverbird quite predatory and where some people see 'intimidation' i see 'aggression'. i'd rather our intimidation be 'formidable' and 'passionate', than aggressive. when the kop is in full voice there is nothing more inspiring and spine-tingling. i'd rather opponents and their fans felt in awe of our club and fans, than threatened. but that's just one opinion and i'm sure other fans see the club in different ways to me. i look forward to it being unfurled on wednesday night and i'm sure it'll be yet another lump in throat moment.
