    Absolutely s***e. Odd subs, no control, too slow and pedestrian. Way too predictable. Squad looks tired (no surprise there), it's clear that Slot didn't want Chiesa but surely a straight swap with Diaz would have been the play? Gakpo looked marginally fitter than that ridiculous cameo against PSG but how is he even getting on the pitch atm? Slot has to learn to use his squad better whether he believes in all of them or not, there are simply way too many games.

    My issue too - there have been multiple games where Slot could have used the squad more effectively.

    Whatever f***ing formation we're playing.. It would help if Kelleher actually passed the ball to one of ours, especially as we have about 6 forwards on the pitch.

    Agree, he's great. Works hard, can play multiple positions, decent set piece delivery too. But he can be wasteful, not sure if his record has improved for Atléti?

    Interesting how we've seen an increase in links and rumours on the same day that Slot was as clear as he could be over the contract for Virg. No chance we're paying what it takes to get Alvarez out of Atléti, didn't they pay ~£85m in the summer?

    Probably hope more than anything else. Plus the belief that Hughes and co can't be that f***ing stupid. They also clearly want to stay unlike Trent.

    Do they really defer to him? If anything he has become more of a provider this season. Slot is using him a bit differently imo - there is not as much onus on him tracking back so he's often the designated out ball. I guess that might lead to the perception that their choosing to pass to him rather than shoot themselves.

    Yep, was really impressed by his work rate and technical ability. He was nowhere near as effective as the first leg, but as you said, I think that's because we dealt with him better.

    The stuff about contracts just keeps on going, it's getting increasingly difficult to put it to one side (for me). I'm expecting Mo and Virgil to stay but the longer it drags on... I'll be ecstatic if we win the league but it will be short lived if its followed by confirming the departures of Mo and Virgil.
