Found the post match interviews really interesting. Arne saying we don't play that different to Jurgen's team, Andy Robbo saying it is very different! Suppose it depends on the player / position but there's no doubt we are less chaotic and more controlled for large periods than we were under Jurgen. Despite where we are, still feels very much like we are in a building phase and there's more to come. Another midfielder or a really top finisher / number 9 that can stay fit and things could get very interesting indeed!

The memories are very hazy but there were times today that looked like pre Kenny 80’s football. Comfortable playing it around the back, was half expecting a pass back to Clem. Ruthless from Mo at the end, seemed to slow time and sit them all down. Time wasting aside, I thought Villa were a very good side, maybe the toughest we’ve faced this season.

It's absolutely delicious this. They're the worst they've been since Dave Sexton and a new manager isn't going to fix it quickly.

They're dithering and penny pinching again. Knowing them they're also sizing up whether they can get away with it with the fanbase by painting him as greedy or not wanting to stay. We've now had Virgil, Salah, Ali and Trent all say they want to stay, with none of them having been offered anything at all by the sounds of it. With Virgil and Salah they have the get out of their age and demands. With Trent it isn't quite that easy, they need to pay him market rate and recognise his importance to the club. Maybe they don't view him as irreplaceable or worth what he's asking. But it's up to them to own that. It's on the owners this, Hughes is probably the man in the middle.

I think his team will think he's worth almost double that, maybe even more. I'd like to see a 2 year deal for Virgil, don't think there'll be much of a drop off. Mo is more problematic, much as I love him. Think you're right about Ali, which is a shame. He's the best keeper we've ever had imo. Even Clem.

I'm with Murph on this, we deserve them, and we deserve a proper celebration. It'll send the rest of the league purple with rage as well (apart from the other teams that will get one).

Slept on it and I’m not sure what I witnessed, but I definitely didn’t like it, especially at Anfield. They need a rocket after that, it was dire.
