We have a big enough squad now and a number of players are on the edge of the starting 11 - Can, Markovic, Manquillo, Moreno, Sakho. We need to focus on a top CDM to replace Lucas and a GK. We've done the squad building in the summer so forget Shaqiri. A top striker would be icing on the cake but Sturridge, Sterling, Coutinho and Lallana should be starting IMO. It would be tough to fit everyone in with another top striker.

Lallana, Can, Moreno, Lambert, Lovren are good players but surely, when BR said that last summer's inability to get Costa, Mkhitaryan or Willian was down to not having UCL, he didn't believe these players were on the same level. These five recruits would be great to replace our outgoing players and build a squad worthy of challenging in multiple competitions. The entire back line + Gerrard (DM) in the first half were shocking for me. DM and LB need to be addressed in the next two weeks.

This window is far more critical. Suarez is gone without top 4. If we lose him, all the progress we've made the last few years means little and we're back at square one. This window is critical to get back into the UCL. No other window the last ten years has been as critical to reacting that objective.

We're six points off having played by far the most games away from home against the top 6 so far. Reinforce with. DM, CB and RW and we'll be fine.

Please get a beast of a CB and DM this month. We're crying out for them.

A lot of it is counter attacking (we need a proper DM) and set pieces (we need a CB who can dominate in the air)

Here's what I took from it: -Henderson, Allen and Lucas offer too much of the same thing. Keep one of them in the starting 11, Gerrard and a DM. -We need a proper DM to bring some steel to our midfield. He would have tracked Hazard's run. What was Lucas doing on the first Chelsea goal? -Our issue is youth. Too much inexperience. Too much shyness. -We can't keep possession against top teams. This is a mix of the above. Just too much inexperience and not enough size and steel. -Keep Agger at left back for the rest of the season. -Skrtel is letting his man score too much this season. Because of it: -Suarez is isolated. -we don't take our chances. -we aren't creating.

Can't we do better than 17m on Hughes and Salah? Get us in the UCL first FFS. This is the most important window in the last 20 years.

A few things I took away from the match: -We give up far too much from set pieces. Even with Skrtel derobing Kompany, he was able to head it past Mignolet. We need to attack the ball rather than try to impede the opposition. We should take a serious look at Papadopoulos again to pair with Sakho. -We can't sell Agger. Sakho has been immense. His first half play was sensational. But he didn't play much for PSG and it shows in his fitness in second halves. We need Agger to replace him if need be. -Lucas is a metronome in our own half but we're crying out for a Mascherano type destroyer. Somebody who'll make the opposition pay a price for trying to drive through the middle of our midfield. It would break up far more possessions and let our forwards counter-attack many more times a match. -We have a lot of youth in our ranks which bodes well for the future but Coutinho, Sterling, Allen and Henderson are too shy for the big stage in front of goal at this time. They get nervous and anxious. It appears in poor touches at the top of the box that show up every few games and the quality of shots they miss. An experienced Coutinho or Sterling would have won us that match yesterday. It's completely understandable given their age but we should reduce expectations. It's a growing process. -If we had secured Costa for the right forward slot it would have done wonders for us. -Flanagan can handle the left full back position. Play Agger there in the mean time. He's played there before! -We were very nervous but we are not far off the leaders. What we need: -An immense centerback to complement Sakho. Someone who strikes fear in the opposition and wins aerial battles: Papadopoulos. -A midfield destroyer a la Mascherano. Put him with Gerrard and Coutinho in a 1-2. -A third striking option after Suarez and Sturridge a la Costa. Set those three alight up top.
