Totally agree. I like the look of Teixeira but he's 26, uncapped and in the midst of what looks like (on youtube) a great season in Ukraine. At the same age Suarez was looking like one of the best five players in the world and had (more than?) 50 odd caps for his country, including looking pretty outstanding in a World Cup.

I'd never heard of the player before we were linked with him. He looks quite exciting on youtube. As do many players. God knows if he's a E50m player... It does play on my mind a bit that he's uncapped at 26. Be interested to know who the most expensive player ever is who has never played for his country.

Agreed. We have a spectacular record of paying the extra few million on players we shouldn't have whilst walking away from deals we should have done.

Oh yeah. Sports med is a weird area. Brukner has a pretty stellar reputation in it but for whatever reason it just didn't work out with him.

Yeah fair enough I don't see that much of Chelsea. Look like since Fabregas' arrival he's played less. Still don't think it's that out there with fees as they are, less than Herrera, less than Fellaini, maybe less than Schneiderlin.

They paid 17m for him five years ago. Since then he's pretty much been a starter (until past few months) in a pretty successful side. Good appearance record, 50 caps for Brazil. Don't think the fee is that out there personally. Not when someone like Naismith is 8.5m.

Mignolet was a good shot stopper who was poor at commanding his box and poor with his feet. Now he's not a good shot stopper.
