I agree that the cost shouldn't mean anything...but... 1. Moreno had about 50 La Liga starts and had played for his national team (then world champions) when he joined us. 2. Origi had a similar number of starts for Lille and had played in the World Cup for a pretty handy side. Not that surprising that they are getting more of a run than Stewart and Smith.

When was the last time he had a game where we won - or even drew - and he was one of our best players? The mark of a good keeper is that this is a regular event.

Was working so didn't see the game but I think that is true of the best players, generally. Hoping so anyway as basically we need to hope that we get a couple of really good ones in and lots of the those there now start looking better.

Goalkeeper, left back, then one each down the middle. We really could do with a couple of Arbelos type signings - solid, good players, not expensive so that we can focus on the other positions. Hoping that Klopp will know a few in the German/Eastern European markets.

Personally I don't think there has been anyone on Suarez's level in English football in the past twenty years (maybe more) with the exception of Ronaldo.

No idea if Texeira belongs in that kind of group. He's an uncapped 26 year old - and Brazil have capped quite a lot of pretty average players under various managers in the past few years. He might turn out to be brilliant in a top league (if he ever gets to one). He might not. Konoplyanka too really. He is now at Sevilla, not seen enough of them to know how he's doing. And we paid his release fee as far as I recall.

Haha yes, I think the intended dryness of my post may not have fully come across. That said I still found the Gyan thing pretty incredible. I doubt there are more than ten or so (Barca's front three, Ronaldo, Bale, Ibrahimovic, Rooney, Yaya, Aguerro, maybe a few others) earning that kind of cash from their club alone.

This was in the (London) Evening Standard tonight. Either way apparently Asamoah Gyan (who was at Sunderland for about a season) is apparently being paid 11.5m sterling a year in China - 225k per week. Which may help explain why players are moving there.

So why don't you compel him to have 'psychiatric treatment' then? If you're qualified to judge you can do that - as you'd know if you were qualified to make the judgement.
