Many of the new stadia plans in the US use Google Earth. (including Lucas Oil Stadium and New Cowboys Stadium by HKS) -

If former players feel entitled to tickets then shouldn't we expect something back from them. Attendance at the memorial service, doing hospitality work at Anfield, LFC in the community etc... Far be it from me to say they shouldn't have tickets but I would question where is the commitment at times other than Cup final day.

I ordered from these in 2005 (have done again this year), saves buying them over there and hauling them back. Plus protects you from them selling out at the ground. http://www.pplsport.com/

Can they still be included in the squad if they haven't trained today?

Hicks believes that Benítez?s wife, Montse, will hold the key to keeping the manager at Anfield, although having been told by the Spaniard that he will stay, the Texan billionaire is adamant that Benítez would reject the advances of Real Madrid if the Spanish club come calling again in the summer, as is expected. ?Rafa?s not going anywhere,? Hicks said. ?He?s under contract and he told me that his wife has said that if he ever did go, he?d have to go without her because she?s staying in Liverpool. He?s staying in Liverpool, too, because he?s the man that we want. more watches for Montse please...

1 weeks wages would cover those flights. plus had he been fit and playing for Oz then the club would want to ensure he was not in cattle class. Actually surprised he didn't demand his own private jet Slow news day.

E-Petition: response from the Prime Minister The e-petition asking the Prime Minister to "Posthumously award Bob Paisley a knighthood" has now closed. This is a response from the Prime Minister, Tony Blair. Bob Paisley's achievements in football were remarkable. It is easy to see why so many people want to see his record formally recognised. This has been underlined by the thousands of people who have signed the e-petition on the No 10 website calling for him to be granted a posthumous knighthood. But this is simply not possible. A knighthood is an honour only given during someone's lifetime. Unlike bravery awards and medals, they have never been granted posthumously. Formally, this is because the recipients of knighthoods are admitted into a particular Order when they attend an Investiture ceremony in person. In practical terms, however, it would also be impossible to decide which of thousands of figures in our country's history, who were not knighted during their lifetimes, should retrospectively deserve such recognition. For example, there are already similar e-petition campaigns for posthumous knighthoods for football managers Bill Shankley, Brian Clough, Jock Stein and Bill Nicholson. But strong cases could also be made for many other high-achieving sports figures as well as authors, scientists and others who were not knighted during their lifetimes. Charles Darwin, Captain Cook, RJ Mitchell, who created the Spitfire, John Lennon and even William Shakespeare are just a few of those who were not honoured in this way while they lived. The fact they were not knighted, however, does not in any way detract from the contribution they made to this country. Their lives and achievements have each been celebrated and remembered in many other ways. But a knighthood is, however, not possible for someone, no matter how accomplished, who is no longer able to receive it. Yours sincerely, Tony Blair

Ross County youngster Gary Mackay Steven signs for Liverpool Sixteen year-old Scottish midfielder Gary Mackay Steven has today signed a pre-contract agreement with Liverpool FC, taking him to Anfield for the start of the 2007/8 season. The youngster is widely recognised as one of the most promising talents north of the border and will sign a two-year contract with Rafa Benitez's side on July 1st. Despite only being sixteen, Gary has been an important member of the outstanding Ross County Under 19 side this season and he scored in the quarter-finals of the Scottish Youth Cup in the 3-2 home win over Hibernian in the middle of February, rewarding County with a semi-final against Glasgow Rangers. Gary also scored in the recent 3-2 League win over Berwick Rangers. Gary was understandably delighted with the prospect of moving to one of Europe's biggest clubs in the summer, telling www.stellargroup.co.uk: "I am very much looking forward to it. It will be a big challenge for me, but one that I believe I can handle." link

BBC R5 were also running a support group. I'm sure Boro fans are well happy, 4 of theirs stabbed there last year. Did they make a fuss? They call us "self pity city"?

Is right, that's what should have been in the letter. Describes exactly what happened to us in 2001.
-
I'm sure you'll all know this happened to us there in 2001, they threw coins, bottles etc at us and the police did nothing until the first bottle was thrown back. Those Rome Carabineri love a ruck and they are indiscriminate. I don't think the United letter inflamed the situation, that's a red herring. The most scary place was always going to be in the ground. Going to watch the match in Italy as an Englishman is a dangerous thing to do, they failed to recognise that. Fans calling Five Live at half time (from the ground) to complain about the treatment they were getting. Man up FFS!

Clearly doesn't take into account club debt.

the first time that a Milan, Real Madrid or A N Other self-important G14 club doesn't qualify for the CL over a couple of years then Platini is toast. The CL is the overblown, cash-rich b astard child of the European Cup because the glamour teams play in it, it gets massive viewing figures and TV money because of that. Not saying it's right, just the way it is now. If he has some puritanical view of European football then he should go back to the European Champions Cup (for League Champions) and Cup Winners Cup format. Of course he knows that is never going to happen and would lead to a breakaway league. The FA cup does not need a carrot at the end of it, it is prestigious already, ask any English player - they dream of winning it. Some of foreign coaches that have devalued it that's all. Benitez certainly learned the hard way after the Burnley game. He made up for it a year later.

PSLs are all the rage in the NFL, LFC could raise up to £25M from introducing this, dunno where the fans would find the extra few grand. Where's that LFC MBNA card when I need it.
