Whenever Josemi has played in the centre he has looked very good. (touch wood. not man wood, but from a tree, in a lucky sense) Having said that Traore has looked solid in the centre too. Its when they play as full backs that they look like liabilities.

If he hadn't repeatedly lied over the course of a year about signing a new contract then I wouldn't have begrudged him on iota. As it is, he lied to the fans and to not expect some backlash for that is frankly naive. As it stands I don't think Liverpool fans should ever boo ex-players (except in exceptional circumstances) particularly if we harbour hopes that they will return. That said, for the way he mislead the fans and the club I think he probably deserved it.

He's a lying little schitbag, but that doesn't mean he should have been booed. It would have been far more classy to cheer him for what he did at the club than pillory him for the manner in which he left. And its hardly going to make him any more likely to return in the future. We'd be nuts to let him go. He is faster than Cisse and can dribble the ball to boot. Finishing sometimes leaves a little to be desired (except when it really matters) but then he doesn't play up front enough to judge. I'd like to see Rafa giving him 40 mins regularly when we are comfortable to see what he can do in this team.

Did Carra do anything in the game? I don't remember him having to touch the ball. In fact I'm not even sure we needed a defense.

Harry has been playing very well. He is beating men, crossing well and has been very unlucky not to score a few this season. Every match he is improving. The biggest problem is he doesn't seem to have the pace any more, but quite often he is beating players with skill giving him enough time to put in a final ball. Problem is when there is a lot of space to the byline it ends up similar to Diouf where he could beat the man easily, but the defender has plenty of time to track back and make a tackle. His pace has definitely gone. Having said that he is better than any other options we have and unless we bring in a Whackeen then we wouldnt be trading up.

Yes. All the Geordie fans hate it when he comes on because he is a total liability, particularly in combination with Boumsong. And I mean ALL the Geordie fans. The difference is that whilst there may have been initially a few isolated Crouch critics, everyone else has been rooting for him and its paying dividends now. All opposition fans booing Crouch shows is their lack of knowledge about football. Us cheering Crouch at least puts an amusing spin on what everyone already knows. Titus Bramble is a shocking defender (although I'll give you that he played very well yesterday). It might be a little harsh, but at least we didn't boo him.

In terms of jet lag they'll have the advantage, because flying east is what sends you totally out of synch (you miss a night) whilst flying west just means you have an extra long sleep and you're in sync with local time.

I think his apology is about as good as anyone could possibly make. He stuck to his guns on the crux of the article, which incidentally i agree with, and addressed the factual errors and errors of judgement in an articulate and compassionate way.
