I always thought it was L'Hermitage or whatever it's called on the road between VdL and QdL. Never been and won't be either at 150 euro's a head or thereabouts. The best food I have when we are over there is at the beach bar off the road out of the back entrance to Vale de Lobo/Dunas Douradas.

Both are , as DubRed mentions, in the Quarteira/Almancil area, close to Quinta de Lago and Vale de Lobo. There are a number of other good restaurants in the area (inc. a great pizzeria) but you do need a car if you are staying round there. And it is getting more expensive with every passing year so be prepared to flex your credit cards.
