  1. Oh dear he's gonna have the worst birthday ever! Can't wait...
  2. Yeah that much is correct mate. I reckon someone in the same sort of mould will be gracing Anfield next season though...
  3. I reckon Robbie is gonna bag a hatful. The amount of times these days we get in behind sides and have no options in the penalty area will be a thing of the past. Robbie thrives on balls into the box so in that sense I can't wait to watch him banging them in. I reckon he'll need a few games though and might struggle initially until he increases his fitness. That's because Cisse was 'partnering' him in those games ;-)
  4. If only Milan had games against the likes of TNS and Kaunas to boost his total eh? ;-)
  5. We definitely need another option up front even after signing Fowler. Morientes does some very good things buy they mostly tend to be in the CL. He struggles especially away from home domestically I feel. He's not sh*t, that much is clear but i'm unsure if he's suited to the Premiership. The less said about Cisse the better. Not in a million years, or at least not in my opinion. Baros was very self-centred as a player but at least he had some substance to his running. He could beat players with skill and not just raw pace and his finishing was half-decent too. I always liked Milan although I could understand Rafas thinking in getting rid of him. With the considerable benefit of hindsight though having Baros here still would be a good option - he was sold for a reason though, to fund other purchases.
  6. Djimi may as well 'be gone' with the way he's played this season. I thought he was very impressive last term but have been disappointed with his form this season. There may be mitigating circumstances as he's been injured etc but he has been poor when he's played.
  7. 'I would be really pissed off if any friend of mind started publishing the cr*p that TLW fanzine was at the time' That's what you wrote. It indicates that what was written was something you disagreed with, so ergo you said it was 'crap'. Do you see? And I think people maybe getting mixed up with what Dave has written and what other people have written in the fanzine. The beauty with TLW fanzine and website is the fact that there isn't a lot of censorship. You have to have written/said something downright disgraceful to be banned etc Dave puts stuff in the fanzine that he might not necessarily agree with, but he's not a pr*ck so he doesn't get all high and mighty and refuse to let it be aired. So just because something is in the fanzine doesn't mean it represents the views of the editor, that's why it's called a 'fanzine'. Fans write the content, therefore it's pretty fair to reason that what's written represents the views from the terraces. So if TLW was ever critical of Vladi for instance, I can guarantee you that Dave never wrote it because he's one of Dave's favourite players. Oh and the players read TLW too so if it's good enough for them.... ;-)
  8. So what you're saying is, if somebody has a different opinion to you that means they are talking cr*p? Dear oh dear...
  9. There is now way TLW ever referred to GH as the 'Frenchman'. I find it ironic that certain people on here are calling him a hypocrite when most of the things he criticised were indeed in need of addressing. He's not the type of person to have an opinion then stick to it. GH had lost the plot big time by the end of his tenure and he needed replacing, that much was clear to pretty much everybody. What has happened since has only served to confirm this. The same with Heskey - when he was described as 'lazy', it wasn't a dig at his work rate, more what he did with his ability. Heskey has/had all the attributes to become a top class player but he never used them in the way he should have, and he was criticised for it. That's football. It is also totally different to some of the stuff i've read on here about Dave, such as 'I hope he gets ran over'. Massive difference in my opinion. As far as the right-winger goes, I think we could really do with another option there. Routledge would have been a decent signing on loan until the summer I reckon.
  10. At around the time you read the fanzine the people being criticised within it were well deserving of it. It's no coincidence that those people who were criticised have now been shown the door and we have improved because of it. So stop generalising - you've only read it once so to be so certain about it is contradictory. Fanzine's tend to reflect the current mood - if you read TLW now it's full of positive articles because we are doing well. That's just par for the course of this type of media.
  11. Wouldn't blame him like! It is very interesting I have to say.
  12. That's the beauty of it I suppose mate.
  13. Yeah of course things like that happen i'm just being pedantic I think. And looking for reasons because I just can't fathom why we would sign either SWP or Defoe when we have just strengthened those positions so late in the window. To me, our deals are done for January.
  14. I just don't think it makes sense for anything like that to be happening so late in the transfer window and on a match day.
  15. Just out of curiosity, if Defoe was talking to us today about possibly signing, why would he be going to Liverpool when all of the staff are in Portsmouth? The chairman and chief exec attend pretty much every game so if they are there today (which of course I don't know for sure), then it just doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Surely he's not going to the pit?!
  16. Exactly. I think it's quality and anyone who owns the merchandise will always know that when others were slagging Crouchy off, they kept the faith.
  17. I'd definitely have one of those Rushian
  18. If you're still short i'd love to play. I play quite a lot so i promise i'd do ok
