  1. my fulham mate reckons we were linked with their crap right back stand in - the one who plays when voltz is in midfield. leroy roseniors son. can't remember his 1st name.
  2. the rule is he can't play for 3 clubs in the 12 month period from 1st july-30th june. he played for corinthians in competitive games after the world cup, then transfered to west ham.
  3. It is the 1st one. Chelsea used to try and get away with that by charging full price for away fans, but allowing home fans to get a members discount on equivalent seats, so they would pay 10-20% less than the away fans.
  4. Beacroft knows nothing. We've signed Martin O'Neill as manager about 10 times according to him. He just makes anything up he feels like and hopes his old links with the local media in Liverpool give him some credibility.
  5. between watford away and chelsea at home.
  6. but this is the point of the current talks with UEFA and the EU. UEFA want the EU to write new EU law to clarify the position and they are citing that it already breaks existing competition law, but enforcing it would be costly to chase through the courts. The EU are leaning towards doing this (according to an EU spokesman quoted in one of the sunday broadsheets a week or two back). If this law change happens (they expect it to be ratified before the start of next season), then chelsea's position wil change dramatically.

    pennant

I'm no fan of Pennant and I doubt he'll make it with us, but to be fair his time to break through at arsenal happened at a time arsenal had their best team since the 30's, if not their entire history and it would have been difficult for any player to break into it at that time.
  8. if kuyt can't pick anything up from fowler or any other player he plays with, he might as well pack the game in now - defenders will look at him, work him out and he'll never get a kick again. all good players learn every time they take to the field - including training. if kuyt can't watch fowler and pick some things up from him - and this doesn't need fowler to coach him, just kuyt has to have eyes and a brain in his head - then we might as well put him up for sale and get shut. without doubt kuyt is learning off fowler and hopefully the other 2 strikers in the squad. and as someone has already pointed out, owens movement improved no end after help from rush.
  9. The EU are talking with UEFA about forcing clubs to me more transparent and to allow rules within UEFA to restrict spending on Chelsea type scales. Spending has to equate to income - and they are citing what Ambramovich is doing as unfair competition and already against EU law. It's more than possible imo the the EU will help UEFA with this type of legislation - they are indication they are willing to go down these lines. Everything else that has come out of the EU with regards to forcing teams to pick local based players etc, they have always steadfastly stuck to the line that this equates to restriction on movement within the EU and they will not tolerate it.
  10. and it's more than possible he did finish like that. now training everyday with fowler he can see the value in picking the spot that the keeper can't get to and accuracy over power is often the best way. he just needs to improve on his accuracy.
  11. gerrard back wide right with a new central mid player?
  12. I didn't realise it was that simple. I thought if there were changes outside what had been approved english heritage it would be a case of going back through planning with the council. The trouble is though I doubt very much if the exteria of the stadium will change much and to me it's the look from the outside that makes it look like a giant reebok more than the inside.
  13. That's not strictly true. The bland exterior needs to pretty much stay as it is - that was what got the go ahead from english heritage or whatever they're called as it's being built next to a victoria park. apparently that is in keeping with it's surroundings. dunno how that's the case like - how the f*ck is any 60k seater stadium in keeping with a victorian park?!
  14. i think sky were advertising it "from 10.30", which means the draw will be sometime adfter 11 i guess. although knowing sky it could be after 2 or something.
  15. he's certainly been faultless in recent weeks, i can't remember him doing anything wrong!
  16. which day we play on is nornally sorted within about 2 hours of the draw for the knockouts. i think they just need to sort out clashes such only having 2 games per country per night for tv and the likes of milan and inter not playing at home on the same night.
  17. I think that's most likely. Didn't dudek say in the build up to the gala game, that he was going to speak to rafa about letting him go as he's desperate to play regular football?
  18. what keeper anywhere makes no errors? i can't think of too many that have made less than pepe in the last 18 months - and most of his were in an 8 or 10 game spell. outside of that he's hardly put a foot wrong. he's a top class keeper who will be badly missed should we lose him imo.
  19. i think the west ham due dilegence phase took about 6 weeks. with everything surrounding the stadium i think it would be fair to expect that it will take at least this long, possibly more.
  20. hills are supposed to take any bet you request - or at least that's what they used to claim.
  21. it's funny, when i was younger they didn't bother me at all. ok, i wanted them to lose every week, but really as long as we were above them come may, i was not too fussed what happened with them. but somehow through their relentless bitterness of the 90's, i'm getting as bitter as them and i really enjoy watching them make absolute t*** out of themselves, week in week out. even the derby this season, when you should be gutted, they even lightened the mood then with that non-league/rugby/loser wool/no-mark "cheerio" song they sung. it was comical and it actually made what should have been a bad day bearable .. knowing no matter what happens, at least we're not them!
  22. You see he's something else to love about the blues. It's been brilliant since he's taken over and we get all his lovey antics on the telly - i think he's funny as f*** and they fall for his drama queen stuff all the time.
  23. I was pretty sure the I heard on the radion this morning that they said the site is 4 miles from the city boundry not Woodison.
  24. i'm convinced it won't happen to be honest - but i actually want them to go. i think it would be smart for the people of knowsley :-)
  25. i think their "banks of the royal blue mersey" song might just end up as the "banks of the royal blue kirkby". i love what losers the blues are.
