Chelsea want a new stadium. They're just not lucky enough to have a big f*** off park to build on 200 yards away from their current stadium. Kenyon has said a few times the only thing that holds them back is finding the right location and it's a key part to them getting away from being reliant on Abramovich.

The thing is though Paul, it probably is self-financing once it's open and you're selling the extra seats and corporate packages that will come with it. What do we do in the 2 or 3 years while we're building but have to service the debt? My understanding is that is the bit we're struggling with and they don't want to go through a period where we have nothing to spend.

Not really Paul, I'm a lot like that and I don't understand why Moores can't keep things as they are and we borrow the money for the new ground. The only difference is I will pass judgement on Gillett as and when I know enough about him to do so. Just because we know nothing, doesn't mean it's all bad. Moores has clearly decided (or perhaps the bankers have???) that he can't finance the new stadium. No matter what, realistically we do need to move imo - which if Moores believes he can't do it alone then takes us back to Gillett or A N Other.

the difference is arsenals fringe players are the youngsters. they don't have many players like fowler and zenden who need games as they don't get them in the reserves as often as they should.

the whole artice is designed to unsettle people. all this other shareholders won't be happy. who exactly? if most aren't happy, they won't have to sell as DIC won't get the 90% he needs to force a sale. Personally as a shareholder, I want what is best for the club. I don't want to sell my shares, but if I have to I hope it's to the person who's right for the club, not that gets me a little more.

i would imagine LFC are not that fussed about forcing FIFA's hand. We wouldn't have played him v chelsea, so in effect from when we appealed (just after watford??) to dealine day he'd have only been on our payroll anyway and not playing as he'd be inelligable v WHU on tuesday as this is a loan in the 1st instance. Personally I think the deal will go through, if it happens on the 31st jan or a week or ago makes little difference to LFC, except it may have given him a little time to train with our other players, but is probably saving us about 40k per week in the mean time.

to be honest i don't see the difference with granting this transfer for football reasons in the same way as the granted ashley cole/ william gallas transfer after the deadline passed at 00:00 on 1st sept 2006. there are rules in place, but if you can bend them sometimes for football reasons, you can't just give the answer "thems the rules, so f*** off". this move is in the interests of everyone - WHU, the player, LFC and MSI. it makes no sense to block it.

i never said it made sense!! I think it's just designed to fit round the new global transfer windows.

I have a couple of shares. My instinct is to keep hold of them, why would I want to give them up? However, if me (and others like me) selling up is what it takes to give DIC full control and fully implement their plan, then I'll sell. DIC may have a totally different plan on how they will deal with debt and future funding should they have 100% of the club compare to the 61% they'll end up having if only Moores and Granada agree to sell to them.

On 5live this morning Bose is now saying we will accept the DIC bid despite the Gillett bid being larger.

let's forget about united for a minute. for this to happen we need to win every single one of our remaining games. This means we need to score in every single one of our remaining games. Is it possible - of course. Is it probable - of course not. Man U are in the driving seat big time. We are a team who have too many games where we don't score - if we reach the end of the season scoring in every match, that would be a run of about 18 games. I haven't checked the stats, but I'd guess it would be 5 years or more since we've put that kind of run together - maybe when robbie was still at the club 1st time around. We need to forget about Man U, chelsea and arsenal. We need to concentrate on ourselves and hope we can score in every game remaining this season - which then gives us a chance to win those game. Personally I don't think our quality in the last 3rd is quite good enough for us to win everyone of our remaining games - but while it's still possible we have to hope. After all that, we then have to hope united have lost the plot and allowed us back in.
