and i can see him linking in a similar way with fowler too.

spot on. souness was one of the biggest c**** going as he's gone on to show time and again since he left us as a player. it doesn't alter the fact he's one of the finest players ever to play for us.

i think when dave usher 1st interviewed him for TLW, he asked him about this and he showed dave his arms and their were no tatts. it doesn't mean he hasn't got one on his @rse or something.

i work with a couple of marseille fans, they reckon the deal is deffo on. they're still trying to agree the fee for a permanent move (they think it will be 11m euros) and that will be dependent on marseille making the CL. they're not happy about it!
-
I don't know about that. they have been lucky and will not be rich. most of the properties they're building have to be what is classed as affordable housing (part of the planning permisssion on ashburton grove) and they will make little or no profit. to balance the books they have budgeted to fill the ground every week and make the knockouts of the CL. i think that's a tall ask for any club, despite arsenals success recently.

arsenal got into all the naming rights situation because they started building a stadium they couldn't afford to complete or get the loans from the financial institutions to complete. they were lucky as f*ck emerates and nike bailed them out by paying them large amounts of money way before it was due, they were days away from the project getting stopped. hopefully we won't go to so far ahead with the project until all the funds are in place. if we can get 80m from sponsors and a similar amount from a new investor, it won't leave us with much of a burden for coming years. the investment, sponshorship partners and the building of this stadium are without doubt linked and LFC should be doing all they can to sort this before we start building.

everyone used to sing it in the 70's and 80's. no big deal imo. it's our song and everybody knows that.

as much as i'd like to wear the uefa badge of honour in every game, i thin it's probably right it's kept for europe. however, it would be a good thing to introduce something similar to the prem though, for tems who's won the league 3 times in a row and for each 5 or 10 times of winning it.

i don't think the club would have if it wasn't for the thai's. we may have been looking (which is obvious as parry went out there), but they wouldn't have said anything. because thaksin used us for some cheap publicity, the genie was well aqnd truley out of the bottle and th club had to reveal their hand. this has then created the normal internet panic, which has gone on and on as the club have failed to find suitable investors. unfortunatley there's no getting away from it that all these delays in building the ground help highlight the issue. personally, i think it's more likely we'll attempt to fund the stadium with sponsorship money than investment cash, but that seems to get overlooked on the forums becaus nobody really fancies the stadium naming rights being sold.

originally i think the plans were something like 80m to move, but 40m to stay (at 55k) with an additonal 30m in lost revenues. however the lost revenues part remains simlilar i'd have thought. so i would imagine if the building costs have doubled for the new stadium, the same would be for redevelopment. so at a guess staying with a 55k stadium would cost us 80m+35-40m in lost revenues. however, is 55k big enough? i don't understand though why it is restricted to 55k on the current site. surely the anfield road could be made massive if we expanded slightly into the park. we'd be taking far less of the park off the residents than we would building a whole stadium there. i'd have thought we could easily get to 55k by just re-doing the anfield road, that's before anything we'd do for the main stand.

Does Ged still mumble to himself while watching Lyon?
Kopfaithful replied to melia 's topic in Liverpool FC
he still does it now. -
Perhaps the solution is to pull out of next years competition then. Devalue the compeition for it's 1st year back at wembley. I can't help but feel all the hassle from last summer over the champions league entry has soured relations with the FA to such an extent they give even less of a f*ck than they normally do.

I think it's quite funny. reina isn't even in the choice of the 3 keepers - or cech come to that. weren't liverpool and chelsea the best 2 defences? i know i don't watch a lot of wigan, but isn't jimmy bullard a midfield player not a striker? that's where he's played when i've watched them. i really wish i could get a job like that. talk s**** and get paid for it, rather than talking s**** and posting it for free on forums.

yeah i can't believe it either. my mate who's a WHU ST holder was telling me after they did this, they had to tell some ST holders who'd they'd told were entitled to tickets, they no longer would be as they were unable to cancel the tickets they'd (ticket master) sold. i suppose that's got a familar ring to it. i suppose the cup final wouldn't be the cup final without ticket chaos for all in the build up to the game!

i don't understand who loses out if we boycott the charity shield - surely it's the charities involved?
-
this will be because the fa have allocated the same number of corporate tickets as they would have had wembley been available rather than what they have allocated for previous cardiff finals. they have also allocated tickets to certain wembley bond holders or whatever they're called to keep them sweet. tickets were cut from both competing clubs and some of the "football family" to provide the difference between the normal cardiff allocation for sponsors and the allocation provided this year.
-
Paul, the f*ck up was by the WHU ticket office. They sent ticketmeaster last years season ticket and membership database.

all stadia on the list for semi's and finals to use an electronic system - such as we have at anfield (for the kop anyway, not sure about the rest of it). all PL stadia to be fitted with the same technology. no paper tickets to be issued for PL games or semi/final matches to PL clubs, as the ticket can be simply added to the electronic card. all you need do is apply and none of this will ever happen again. it will also cut down on touting.
-
i would imagine so yeah. that's how they normally do them for aways etc for them.
-
That might be true for some, but not all. a mate of mine has been confirmed his has been stolen. He gets his via a supprters club, who apply on behalf off all the members who entitled to a ticket. They we allocated 75 tickets at 65 quid each. all gone missing in the robbery.

this from their site http://www.millenniumstadium.com/197_7159....69d854e094d76b6 Millennium Stadium today (9 May) warned fans not to buy FA Cup Final tickets from unofficial sources, after Liverpool Football Club revealed a substantial number of tickets from its allocation were stolen last Friday and are now subject to police investigation. The Millennium Stadium will remain firm on its ?no duplicate ticket policy?, thus confirming that original owners of the tickets will miss-out on the Cardiff Final, but has also issued a directive today to all fans to ensure they do not purchase the stolen tickets as they have now been rendered useless. A Millennium Stadium Emergency Safety Advisory Group Meeting ? consisting of senior South Wales Police staff, South Wales Fire Service representatives, the Cardiff County Council and Millennium Stadium- decreed that fans arriving with the stolen tickets, which have been fully logged and traced by ticket office headquarters, will not be admitted to the ground and anyone sitting in the corresponding seats will be ejected. ?South Wales Police are working closely with Merseyside Police over the theft of tickets for the FA Cup final,? said Chief Superintendent Bob Evans. ?We fully support the Millennium Stadium in its ?no duplicate ticket policy? and officers will be rigorously enforcing this on the day. ?My message is this; unless you have purchased your ticket through an official source it is probably forged or stolen. Don?t travel to Cardiff. You will not be allowed entry to the stadium. Anyone found in possession of a stolen ticket will be arrested. ?Anyone with any information about the tickets is asked to contact Merseyside Police 0151 7774064 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111? The Safety Advisory Group and Millennium Stadium has looked at every option to accommodate the original owners of the tickets, however the potential for all stolen tickets turning up on Saturday along with the original owners would create a major safety concern and public order issues, as there are no spare seats within the stadium for individuals to be re-located. ?We have every sympathy for those football fans who have had their tickets stolen and have looked at all possibilities of re-seating these people but after a meeting with our safety advisory group we are standing by our no duplicates policy,? said Millennium Stadium chief executive Paul Sergeant. ?I?m sure all football fans will understand that we simply don?t have spare seats for an FA Cup Final and we cannot compromise on segregation or the safety of our employees-we?re full! ?There is no other way of managing this situation. I would like to urge people not to purchase any tickets other than from official sources and under no circumstances travel to Cardiff with the expectation of gaining entry to the Millennium Stadium if you do not possess a ticket.?

i think the initial comparisons were when the ground would cost 80m - so it was 80m to move or 50m+30m in lost revenues to stay. now with building costs increasing - if we assume the new stadium is 160m (150m seems to be the latest media estimation), then you would guess stopping would cost 100m+30m in lost revenues. which seems a saving worth making imo. but i don't think parry has any intention of going back to the drawing board on this on.
