Who exactly would want him? Pompey, Brum and Charlton have all taken a look at him - if they thought he could add real value to their sides, they'd have bought him. But they know he's not a top division player in a top league. I would imagine Salif knows that too. If Diao had turned out to be the new vierra and then Barca, Milan or Real Madrid wanted him, but didn't want to pay much money for him, LFC would be glad of the contract they signed with him and no matter how much Salif had cried in that situation, we'd have been within our rights to keep him at the club or hold out to whatever we thought he was worth. As it turns out, he's been more the new Paul Stewart, but he's entitled to what we've given him in a contract. These things work both ways. I don't blame him for one second for not moving, why should he? To be quite honest, as we're not going to use him, I just think we should continue to pay up his wages, release him and allow him to end up where ever he ends up. His side of the deal, is once he finds a club, we reduce his new wage off what we're paying him for the final 12 months of his contract. Not that that will save us much, because he's not going to earn anything above 10k a year where ever he goes.
