So what exactly has he done wrong again? Saying that he'd leave if he won the World Cup? Not much more he could do at international level after that. Saying that he wants a lot of money? Surely most people would try and get as much as they can. Saying that he'd use his influence to get Beckham to join him? Surely that is just emphasising a perceived advantage of hiring him - something we all try to do at job interviews. There is a very good chance that he will be kicked out after the world cup; it's a threat for all international managers. I don't understand why anyone would criticise somebody for trying to ensure continuous employment. I'm not a huge fan of SGE but I don't think he's done much wrong here.
