Barca are in a complete state. Their fans are as pissed off with them as we were with H&G and it's not going away. Saw an interesting stat from a guy who reports on them: 25% of their income is pretty much down to Messi. Even if that's inflated, say it's 15% ... that's still €100m a year. Now, imagine if he leaves? They're s***ting themselves. Add in the fact that QSI will almost certainly not renew their deals with Barca (they'll probably just move it to Madrid to piss them off) and the fact they're committed to redeveloping the ground (which is a huge noose around their financial neck) and the good folk at Barca are facing down the barrel of a gun of a financial s***storm of epic proportions which can only be compounded by the fact that Madrid have the best young talent in the league so look to dominate on the field for the next 4-5 years. btw - their President and most of the board are up to their bollix in China with regard to their business interests. Did I mention that Kia Joorabchin represents Phil but also Barca (I think it was the Semedo deal) as well as Paulinho and the Chinese club Paulinho played for. Oh, and they paid €40m for a lad no one else wanted and Spurs had to give away. In conclusion, Phil's a t** to want to go there and catch the flak for being a symbol of the decline.

It's always about money* and the reason he's f***ing off is that they'll pay more than we will and he gets to live a nice life in Turin, play CL every season (pretty much guaranteed) and probablly win the odd league in 3. Win win for Emre. As Tony Barrett said on a TAW show last year, Liverpool would be well served to remember how they managed to get Can in the 1st place if they want to know how he'll handle leaving us. He's deffo off, get used to the idea. Naby is his replacement, not Phils. (*except with it's Oxlade Chamberlain - then it's about giving up an extra £60k pw just to maintain your mental health by ensuring you're never making a show of yourself in front of millions on TV jumping up and down in frustration that you're playing for Arsenal and Bayern are taking the piss )

Haven't been on here really in the last few years but good to see you still fighting the good fight on FSG mate! (h/t to Jarg Armani as well!) FWIW I don't mind yer man Moore. He gives a bit of stick back to the tools on Twitter which I like. The twee 'family' stuff can get f***ed but he's paid a handsome amount of money to promote/manage a huge brand. I'm sure I'd come out with some s**** in the same position.

Generic transfer window <insert season/year> thread
Ronnie#5 replied to growler's topic in Liverpool FC
If anyone on here seriously believes that the club are holding back on Klopp's signings cos of money when we're selling Jordan Ibe for £15m then they're off their head and I say this as a confirmed FSG sceptic. We'll collect well over £80m in sales this summer as things stand (probably more) with a further £30-£35m off the payroll. I've no problem with the club not throwing around the cash just for the sake of it. I just don't think Klopp rates Chilwell at more than the figs quoted and I honestly don't believe he's arsed about Zielinkski cos that lad sounds like he'd swim here if asked. I think he has others lined up and we'll see that in the next few weeks. -
Way too reasonable DH On a serious note, I've been on these for years, mainly about not being arsed since appointing Brendan. This is game changer for me,, massive kudos to them for getting Klopp in. Now they're nearly there. If the penny's dropped on wages then that's the cherry on top.

Mike Edwards - send your messages of hate to him here

No he hasn't and I was a big frustrated demented gobshyte for suggesting it. Good thing Klopp got appointed or I might have taken up Molbys bounty. -

Only course of action is to get to Kenny. It's awful to keep having to rely on him but he's the only one who can really save us if this s*** bag is the one FSG are trusting to call the shots. Get Kenny to do an interview saying how he's being marginalised in the boardroom by some no faced c*** with a laptop & we'll soon see the colour of Mike Edwards s***e. -

Who is the c***? Where's he drinking in town? f*** Social media, just kick his nerdy balls in. He'll soon f*** off with his laptop -
Ha! Yeah, I think that may be my most significant contribution to this forum in 12 years!

They were ultimately defeated by the Stevie G'jhadists aided and abetted by the Carramaniacs, led by the King of the Pigs, Cecil.
-
Correct. I've no idea what stuff John Henry's been passing round our fanbase to blind them to this fact:
-
Thanks. I expected nothing less of you. Edit: nice to know you think it's nonsense to suggest young local fans get access to the games.
-
Thanks mate. They're not arsed. It's not a crime but it's not a strategy either. I'd take a motivated JWH any day of the week as an owner. But he's not arsed. I'm coming round to the thought that he only bought the Boston Globe to give his Mrs something to distract her from annoying him over LFC as I honestly think she bought into the whole thing. We'll get Ron de Boer and he'll get us into the Europa League final as a step stone to the Barca job. We're in limbo with Mike Gordon at the helm I'm afraid. It'll take 30k for a league home game to tempt him off the fence. f*** sake Leo. Who said they were Saddam?? C'mon man. They're not arsed. Lets all worship at their lack of arsedness. Yipee.

I'd have it as either 7 or 8 but then it should. That team finished 8th. This team has talent to finish top 3. (bar keeper who simply must be f***ing binned asap)
-
I really think we need to move on from Klopp based on Simon Hughes piece and general Twitter chit chat. He ain't coming.

These owners are fine for me financially. It's the fact that the principal owner shows more interest in Minor League Baseball teams than he does LFC which concerns me. Which wouldn't be so bad if they hadn't covertly installed Mike 'Cardinal Richelieu' Gordon as de facto Head of Club or the fact that they naively believe that football is about having the best algorithm. The there's also the fact that they've failed to grasp the "economic" benefits of a 60k Anfield which would include a substantial local youth presence thereby helping to generating the type of atmosphere which would... wait for it... make Anfield a place where teams come to lose rather than take the piss. There's plenty more where that came from NYR but it's lazy in the extreme to just lash everyone who qs FSG with the 'ah sure you only want an Oligarch'. We want owners who are emotionally invested in the club; as daft as that may sound. But failing that, savvy enough to realise that the lack of said emotion means they should employ the best football people money can buy to run the club. Fails all round.

You could stick a pin on nearly any of the 1100 pages of this thread and you'll find the same thing being said Steve. Bottom line is that when the Red Sox were in worse state than we are (last season) JWH got up off the hammock and did an impromptu press conference for 45 mins with local/national media. Mike Gordon is point man and my guess, knowing ego's at this level like I do, is that he's nearly got as much to lose from this as Rodgers so hence the stagnation. The bow will eventually break though but I'm starting to come around to the thought that they really won't go for Klopp so f*** knows where we're going. It's a s*** state of affairs thats for sure.

Is right Leo. Think he just needs a run of games in midfield. Europa League should guarantee him this at the least
-
Is right mate & we'll sing our b****x off that we're gonna win the league. It was never more fun than that.
-
Pavel Nedved, who knows a thing or two about midfielding said that the 1 player he'd want in his team from the entire u-21 tournament was .... Emre Can. Now I know we've some serous experts on here who keep telling me he CAN'T play central midifield but for some reason, the LFC scouting dept, Bayer Leverkusen, German u-21 coach & now Pavel Nedved all say he can. I think he's got everything a modern CM needs and reminds me a LOT of Yaya Toure. Let's see him get 10 games there please before we consign him to the back 3.
-
We're going to surprise more than a few people. Think we're going to hit the ground running. I wanted Klopp but I'm 100% behind Brenny and the signings look great (I've done a 180 on Benteke and jumped on the bus just as it was leaving the depot) Btw - Think this is the year Rooneys legs go and as a result LvG is more likely to be out of a job at the end of this season than Rodgers. Oh and we're gonna win the league.

Paul Tyrell seems to be available and apparently has a strong connection to a Fernando Torres of Finance. You couldn't go wrong by starting there.

That's tremendous work KAMF

Well said. Agree with all that yet there's no chance I'm going into next season not supporting the manager. They've made our bed now we review at Xmas.
