Felt the need to mark his birthday somehow, so I've come on here to remember him on the first birthday without. Always in my heart and on my mind but even more so today.

Follow up to the charity donation. Sport Against Racism Ireland are organising a tournament in memory of Vic. The inaugural Vic Hart Memorial tournament will take place in Dublin next Sunday 19th December. More information to follow if anyone wants to attend. Thanks again to everyone who donated and made this happen. Vic made such an impact on so many of us that his memory will very much stay alive even without events like this, but it's a lovely gesture from SARI to remember and honour a great man. https://www.instagram.com/sari_ireland/p/CXRCdHpswlE/?utm_medium=share_sheet

Thanks again everyone for honouring the memory of a most extraordinary man like this. Love to all of you who’ve paid tribute to him in the past weeks and donated to continue some of the work he so strongly believed in.

Thanks again everyone for your lovely messages. They were printed and passed on to his mum earlier today. Like others, I sadly also don't have many photos of him, but the two below are a reminder of what he was like when many of us first met him in early 2000s.

Thanks everyone for your heartfelt and heartwarming words about someone so special I'm not sure I can find the words to do him justice right now. I will share these with the people closest to him and hope it will give them - in particular his mum - some comfort knowing how respected and loved he was. There are people who kept him company on the darkest parts of his journey and gave him all the love they had, but sadly that wasn't enough so don't feel bad if you had lost touch with him more recently or didn't tell him how much you cared about him and are now left wondering what if. No one could have changed this. God knows some of us tried. Can only hope he has found the peace he so needed and craved and be grateful we were privileged enough to know him for a while.
