The improvement in the squad over last season is stunning. Have to say we've really played a blinder. I'd have Flanagan and Sakho in that first choice XI above and I cant see anyone paying us 10m for Lucas. Forgot we still had Suso ... can't really see him getting much action beyond maybe the Carling Cup Interesting season ahead .... a lot of new faces to bed in and keep happy ... really be helpful to hit the ground running and get a bit of momentum going

Maybe so ... surprised there hasn't been any murmerings ... for Sterling in particular. If he continues on the same trajectory it'll be hard to hang on to him

Does it follow that signing Ballotelli means our interest in Falcao is dead? Another question to throw out there ... Will a big head turning offer come in for Sturridge or Raheem in the next couple of weeks? Two of the outstanding players in the league last year so I'd be surprised if there's no enquiries

I'd be delighted to see FSG back the manager with a top tier signing like Falcao or Cavani. If it's what he wants it'd show a lot of faith in him and more importantly we'd be real contenders with a superstar banging them in

Agree with you there ... was just thinking earlier, people very rarely liken a black player to a white player. Adeboyar is older than the players we've been buying under FSG, and his attitude is questionable, but whenever I see him play he's been impressive.

I think we're bulking up the squad very well and that was badly needed. But if we could directly replace Suarez with a superstar we'd be in a great position. I'd really hope we'd have the ambition and be willing to pay what it takes to land Falcao. That's what it's going to take to be champions cos nobody around us is standing still.
