I could be wrong but I wouldn't be surprised if Madrid sat deep and tried to hit us on the break. We have shown we often struggle against this approach and I'm sure Madrid will be aware of that. We've just got to be cute about how we attack, make sure we don't leave ourselves overexposed and vulnerable to the counter. If Madrid decide to bring the game to us, just press them like f***, score 3 goals and try not to s*** ourselves whilst defending. Job done.

Sloppy display all round today. Both fullbacks, Lovren and Karius didn't cover themselves in glory. Gomez seems to suffer from the same affliction Glenn Johnson has, a lazy mind. He's ridiculously casual at times and just switches off, I'd be surprised if it can be coached out of him. Moreno has just confirmed what we already knew, he's utter garbage. Lovren was only on for the latter part of the match and made two mistakes, the first nearly led to a goal and the second where he played everyone onside for the equaliser.

According to Geoff Shreeves, Martin Atkinson didn't look at any of the tv screens pitchside so seems unlikely he could have told to ref anything. The ref either ignored the offside or guessed that Lovren played the ball. Shocking stuff

I think it's more than just left back issue, our overall defending is poor and our midfield isn't good enough and hasn't been for a while.

Hard to remain positive for the rest of the season after this. Any team can have an off day but our problems seem to be deep-rooted.

I wouldn't take much notice of those stats Burnley have surrendered possession to use and most of our shots have been from outside the box.
