  2. http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/new..._on_camera.html Soccer attack suspect caught on camera Clarissa Satchell SUSPECT: Do you know him?DETECTIVES have released CCTV images of an alleged soccer hooligan suspected of leaving a 64-year-old rival fan with a fractured skull. A group of around eight Manchester United fans punched and kicked Wolves fan David Stevens, leaving him needing hospital treatment, after the FA cup match at Wolverhampton on February 1. Police are appealing for anyone who recognises the man in the photograph to contact them. One man was arrested at the scene in connection with the attack and has been released on bail pending further inquiries. Retired Mr Stevens, from Halesowen in the West Midlands, was walking to Wolverhampton train station when the gang attacked him after a fight broke out between rival fans shortly before 6pm. He needed emergency surgery and was left with a fractured skull and a damaged cheekbone. AGONY: David Stephens.Agony Mr Stevens says the attack was the "worst day of his life". He said: "I'm devastated - it has changed my life completely. There was eight of them just punching and kicking me as I lay on the floor. "Whenever I try to straighten my arm I'm in absolute agony." The trouble started when a Manchester United fan launched an unprovoked attack on Mr Stevens's son Wayne, 38, after the FA Cup clash at Wolves' Molineux ground. Mr Stevens followed the group about 20 yards behind them, hoping to provide police with a detailed description of his son's attacker. However, when he was spotted by the gang, they set upon him and beat and kicked him. He added: "I have been following Wolves for 55 years and have never had any trouble or seen anything like this. I am a 64-year-old man - why would I provoke a group of young lads?" DC Philip Taylor, from the British Transport Police, said: "The assault was particularly vicious and completely unprovoked. The victim is a retired man who was walking towards the railway station alone." * Anyone with information about the man in the photograph or the incident should call police on 0161 228 5685 or 0121 654 2244.
  3. I have'nt read all the replies on here, but here is the story over the 'murder' at Ayresome Park in 1980. The Crstal Palace fan 'murdered' was Paul Nixon. http://football.guardian.co.uk/comment/sto...,755198,00.html There were also the Roxbys, Irene and Norman, Middlesbrough season-ticket holders who died outside Ayresome Park in January 1980 when a pillar and gate fell on them as they were leaving the ground. Middlesbrough did not have a safety certificate but the club said this was a mere detail because all the requirements on safety had been met and more besides. Some eye-witnesses accused visiting Manchester United supporters of rushing the gate at the end of the game, but United fans said the surge had been caused by an excited police horse. The decade was only 12 days old when this tragedy occurred. As we now know, the Eighties remembered all the excuses but ignored the portents. The Roxbys were the first of the many.
  4. THE THEATRE OF TROPHIES. Thats all.
  5. http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B...4105075-2132662 The game has half an hour on that DVD.
  6. There will not be a semi final in London on the sunday. The London marathon takes place then and Fulham & Chelsea had to play at Villa Park in 2002 because of it. If we get Chelsea it will be at Cardiff, Charlton or West Ham at Villa Park or either of the north east muppets at Old Trafford. The only ground in London that holds over 40'000 is Stamford Bridge so West Ham v Charlton might be the only one held there.
  7. The Munich songs started around the mid seventies. Bill Shankly died in 1981. By 1983 your fans sang about Bill Shankly. We didn't have the field to ourselves for 20 years, typical Manc history re-written. Answer me this oh holy one, did your dad tell you about your fans singing about Aberfan to Cardiff fans in 1974? No, it never happened, another made up lie to hold against your 'friendly' fans I suppose.
  8. Couldn't leave this alone. 10. What Samuel knows about football could be wrote on a donut, which he'd eat anyway. He's a hammer like his mate McCarthy. So football at the highest level is new to him. He's wrote many an article having a go at us, this Is just another. We walk on, he wobbles on.
