catalans are from the Barcelona area Xabi's a Basque. Is it Atletico Bilbao with a team made up entirely from Basque players? i.e. they choose to do it that way. Very proud, independent people the basques, but I don't buy this 'he wouldn't want to play for Madrid because he's a basque' stuff. There is a lot of talk here in Spain now, but I don't think they'll get him.........yet. -

Cannavaro is incredible! Best defender in the world for years now. They didn't miss Nesta either - Materazzi did well.

Spanish society hasn't yet accepted other races because they haven't had to. The only coloured guys you see here in Malaga are selling sunglasses and therefore viewed from the start with suspicion. Spend a day in most English or French cities and there seem to be almost an even match of 'colours' and races. You can't make monkey noises (for example) on a train when there are more of 'them' than you. Spain has got a lot of catching up to do.

I've watched a spanish game with spanish friends An Argentinian game with Argie friends A dutch game with 2 dutch friends amongst other nationalities - each game a pleasure to watch. I spent the England game listening to English people slag off and insult their own English players, arguing amongst themselves and trying to provoke fans of the other country. I have an English passport but we really are w*****s. -
