  1. That's inspiring...lad looks made up
  2. A brief troll through Celta Vigo forums demonstrates that they had the same opinion as us now. A few translated quotes: "Colotto (Espanyol defender) ate him up with potatoes" "Celta Vigo is too big for him....." "Espanyol have offered 1 million. We can't take less than 1.5 million..."
  3. They were talking about personal ambitions basically, Torres moving on and the spanish presenters were talking about the various keepers playing in Spain and England. Pepe agreed that a return to Spain was impossible, he wouldn't get into Barça or Madrid at the moment and they're the only clubs that could be seen as a progression and a chance to win trophies. The presenters said Van de Saar will have to go soon and Arsenal were rumoured to be looking too. Pepe just said that both clubs would likely be looking for someone but he couldn't comment on that as he has a contract at LIverpool and doesn't want to be seen talking about available positions at rival clubs. He said he has ambitions to win trophies and play in the champions league. That's what he said. I wouldn't like to 'read between the lines' as I could get it wrong.
  4. Dazzla's Grease one for me!!!
  5. Can't wait to see Suarez & Carroll terrorise defences. They're both young, skillful, score loads and MENTAL!! For me Kenny has turned disaster into a very positive future for us and thumbs up to the owners for writing the cheques. i'm ready to celebrate! ....y a Torres que le den por el culo
  6. Good stuff from Holloway on the BBC interview. Says that Kenny was one of the true football geniuses, deserves the very best, that we are a real football club, he'd like to turn Blackpool into an ever better club but he knows its impossible, even 'Fergie' hasn't managed to do that, hasn't managed to beat them.... Apart from the accent he reminds me of Dad a bit. Well meaning, but always likely to call your new bird by your ex-bird's name and feck up the entire weekend.
  7. There was a great moment with a possible quadruple save from Reina and everyone defending like their life depended on it. Finally. Some really nice passing at times. Agger & Aurelio are a big part of this. Kelly was superb! He was all over the place. Their fans seemed to get more and more quiet/worried. We didn't seem to miss Gerrard after he was sent off! 10 against 11 away at Old Trafford. That's the biggest plus of all. obviously the lads will be knackered but they put a shift in.
  8. Welcome back Kenny! The reason I love LFC and the reason I love football. Heard him score on a crusty radio from my bedroom when I should have been asleep. I think in the League Cup final replay...(1981?) Has been my hero since.
  9. Drying my undercarriage after a shower.
  10. I'm so happy I'm going to clean the flat!
  11. GET IN THERE! King Kenny back too....Let the celebrations begin!

  13. The spanish press are full of Rijkaard for LFC too by the way.
  14. Guardiola definitely has something about him. He speaks with authority, explains everything that goes on technically and looks like a manager you wouldn't mess around with. IMO Rijkaard never had that. There's more than a touch of Benitez about Guardiola especially during games where he rants on like a raving lunatic non-stop.
  15. I know what you mean but managing the fantastic players at Barça is nothing like managing Galatarasay and their mixture of rejects and journeymen. Results kind of prove that point. That the players could have done it without him is a daft comment, but they are also doing it with Guardiola. Let's send Guardiola to Galatasaray and see what he wins. I can't remember every single story and piece of gossip now but it seemed that Rijkaard was not held in very high esteem by the players. it was paper talk every day. ironically Guardiola, a similarly young, up and coming manager seems to be fully in control of the team and all the players, yet ironically I preferred the football they played under Rijkaard.
  16. Pellegrini is a fine coach and Villareal and Madrid played good football under him. He had more time at Villareal obviously. Rijkaard would have good football at the top of his priorities but something about his success at Barça was unconvincing.. the team probably could have done it without him. The Galatasaray experience is not convincing either. Pellegrini or Kenny for me in that order.
  17. Very interesting video..."he was talking to some players ....is one of his complaints about Purslow. The players who didn't like Rafa maybe? A blatant attack on the changes Purslow introduced with the authority of the owners.

  19. Karl-Heinz Riedle His link up play for Owen and Fowler was superb. Didn't knock too many in himself I know.
  20. i was only kidding - I remember you from the early Koptalk days and I tried to get tickets off you on a few occasions as for some reason i was led to believe you could get your hands on a few. not sure why I assumed you were working there, or maybe it was a rumour on the site?!?! i drank many beers out of the many crates of beer that Paul Stewart & Teddy Sheringham had with them on a beach in Ibiza (when Stewart played for us) There were loads of mainly spurs reserve team players too licking their arses all day. Paul Stewart was quite a funny guy and kept passing me beers, but he was sunburnt and peeling terribly and it looked like he had some terrible skin disease - he also had strangely over-inflated calf muscles and walked like a duck. Sheringham was a total t**, spent all afternoon telling everyone who he was, fortunately none of them gave a toss.
  21. That's showing off!! You used to work at the club though didn't you? I teach Robbie Fowler's nephews and nieces here in Málaga. He's never once come out to visit, but I have lots of signed goodies from him. I have a "Get me a signed shirt or you fail geography" sort of thing going on......
  22. I can't remember the exact words but during the 'Pepe Reina show' during the celebrations in Madrid he hailed him as spain's best player during the world cup. Quite a compliment considering the competition. He's not a glory player but I don't think he missed a pass in the whole world cup. Very solid.
  23. Madrid are playing really well at the moment and full of confidence and goals. We need to get them back to Anfield without having blown it.
