Just being paranoid. When Utd announced their deals for Nani and Anderson they were reported as potential £17m and £19m rather than a flat fee. I tend to think that are deals get exaggerated in price by the press. Suppose it doesn't really matter that much, does it?
Isn't Alves Brazilian? Sneijder would be a great signing in my view. Can play all over the midfield and is decent at frees. Drenthe looked good during the u21s but it's hard to make a judgement over a handful of games.
Are we paying £20m up front or will it be staggered over the length of the contract? Are there conditions built into the deal in relation to appearences, goals, trophies etc?
Xavier Rivoire on newstalk radio here in Dublin just now. He was talking about Malouda and reckons we've made a bid in the region of ?10-15m. Milan and Utd are also interested. We're in the driving seat but it's not a done deal. Rivoire rates him very highly.
I was in Camp Nou for the Barca v Real Betis match two weeks ago and Eto'o was awesome. Best player on the pitch that night. Took the defence on seingle handidly at times in the first half. I know that he's a bit of a disruptive influence but I think he'd be awesome.
s***. Sorry I missed that. Would have gone up there if I knew Aldo was going. The barge isn't a bad shout for the final but it could be jammed if it's a nice evening. I watched the Chelsea match upstairs in TP Smiths on Jervis st and it was good enough. The Lotts isn't bad but the bar is tiny. Watched the FA Cup final in there. They had the bar decorated with LFC bits and bobs for the Barca match.
The Czech Inn on Parliament st is a much nicer version of Fraizers. It has all of the foreign satelitte channels without the dodgy clientel and surroundings.
I tend to go to the bar, not the lounge, in the Lotts on Liffey st, near Pravda. Tends to be a lot of reds in there and they have a good size tv with commentary turned up. Great spot for football.
Robben is 6'0. I was surprised by how tall he was when I saw him play at Lansdowne road last year. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/players/profi...137&cc=5739
I'm heading over in two weeks for the arsenal match. Couldn't buy tickets through the official site yesterday due to volume of traffic. Don't have too many options for tickets now. Don't want to go to a tout as I'm afraid of forgeries.
He was interviewed on newstalk 106fm recently and came across as a top bloke. Very troubled but so down to earth and honest. One of the best sportman interviews that I've ever heard. Is he still living in waterford or gone back to England?
