It was quite a surprise that Jari managed to play 92 minutes against a side like Wales. He was amazing again, made the team tick, played a part in both goals and even SMILED after Kuqi's goal at the end.
It was widely reported here in Finland that the Stoke match was Sami's 700th official match, BTW. However, I'm not sure if that's just club games on senior level or does it include internationals as well.
I think the criteria might have changed over the years as to what is an oggie and what is not. So I don't thin there's much point in comparing players of different eras.
LDV has a dual nationality and this could also be just a ploy to tie him down for the Finnish national team (instead of Italy). I don't know how the rules are applied, so I might be wrong...
