  1. Speaking of retaliation, how the f*** was Giggs not booked. Coutinho made him look every one of his 40 years in age and he repays him with a scything challenge. Thought the ref was remarkably uncorrupt, maybe this is indeed the beginning of a new era.
  2. Fair enough he has added a few in swapping Moses for Downing. I still think we scored enough last season, it was goals against that were the problem.
  3. Victor Moses scored 10 goals last year, Sturridge and Coutinho will score 10 more goals as they will play twice the number of games. That's 20 extra goals. Surely 71 league goals is plenty, not conceding 43 would see us leap up the table.
  4. That is very good
  5. Exactly, fewer games in March/April really helped them when they didn't have the massive squad they have now.
  6. Cough -Coutinho- Cough We've got 4 top players (IMO) for 3 spots, we've also got a lad who works his socks off and a couple of wonder kids, one who is shining at U21 level. I don't see how that wont be enough for the games that we have this season.
  7. Except when Werner said we backed out of Willian because the cost got much higher than our valuation of the player.
  8. Would have like an understudy for Mignolet but defence looks really sorted, gald that I am no longer on tenterhooks every time Agger goes of for international duty. Midfeld is ok given the reduced games this season. Moses is a really good addition, he was excellent at Wigan, I think he may well force his way into the first team. Sterling as a game changer from the bench, I'm very happy. Now I've shaken off the notion of Gerrard being one of the attackers I think the squad has a nice balanace. Excellent window for me, next step is to increase the depth of the quality players but really we need to be in the CL to get those players.
  9. Lucas is the only player I have seen have Yaya Toure in his pocket. He looked back to his best yesterday, on that form I'd have him above anyone in that position.
  10. I would for 75% of the games and with a 52(? 38 + 7 + 7) game max season we don't need as deep a squad as we have needed in the past. Mata in would take even more weight off Gerrard in an attacking sense. Still seems like a pipe dream but what is the difference between Mata and Sakho? If you build it .....
  11. We have two DMs Lucas and Gerrard. Gerrard has always been able to do the tackling side of it but he seemed to have the positional side of it nailed on Sunday as well (from the telly box view anyway). I guess Brendan's view is that with those two we don't need another. Allen can do a job there and I imagine Henderson can too if we get desperate.
  12. Thought Brendan got it spot on taking off Aspas, he just kept giving the ball away time and time again, he works hard and harries but you can't counter attack if you haven't got the ball. Suarez for Aspas though and I reckon we win that by 2 or 3 yesterday.
  13. Quite a few of those lads played 120 mins of cup football in midweek. That will always tell.
  14. He's only 23, he looks more of a bargain each week.
  15. Very little to do and then when called upon in the last minute made Van Persie's job impossible. Keep this up and he will do for me.
  16. He certainly has, we certainly didn't pass the Mancs to death yesterday. The reds are coming up the hill ..
  17. Absolutely f***ing love this bit
  18. What's the tune for this?
  19. Yeah, Futre was another.
  20. Van Persie is left footed just saying like .....
  21. Disappointingly this doesn't exist, I thought someone would have started it.
  22. Last one then. Improving the playing staff season on season in particular the depth of quality players.
  23. We've made as many mistakes in our 3 years as they have in their decade. I'm not panning FSG but I am wondering what the plan is to take that leap forward from nearly CL contender to CL contender. Their answer seems to be sign young talent and pray. Spurs seem to be building season on season even when they slip a couple of places in the league. It's a good example of a well run club that doesn't have a sugar daddy building a side that can compete at the highest level.
  24. You were the one who listed a catalogue of Spurs mistakes that resembles a catalogue of of our mistakes under the current regime and critisised them for spending on Bentley and Bent. Then you asserted that they were better than us just 12 months after we had finished 2nd. I quoted the part I disagreed with.
