And me, apart from not sending Marcelo off I didn't see a mistake and considering the amount of diving on show that was pretty impressive.
-
I want this every game. 'Is it a goal Charlie?' 'Yes Jeff, no Jeff, the ball has partially completely crossed the line. It's too close to call'
-
IMVPO it was a reward for helping Purslow get rid of Rafa. Hence why it was done at the 11th hour. But then I don't believe Lee Harvey Osward was a lone gunman either .....
-
Are you 12 years old, what lies have I told? I have formed a picture based on the evidence I have been presented. You disagree with that, fine, doesn't mean that I am wrong. You have presented no evidence as to why Carra got the contract when he did just said that you don't care about it. Well some people do care as it's money we can't use to buy other players or pay the wages of other players and next season we will be paying Carra for doing very little.
-
Why did he get it the day before club was sold? Because NESV would never have approved it Why would NESV not have approved it? Because it made no business sense So why did Purslow do something at the very last minute that would be against the wishes of the new owners?
-
Any way this has very little place in a Kenny thread so I'm stopping now. I'll never get a straight answer from CarraLegend as he wants a sworn affadavit from Carragher before he will consider that anything untoward went on. Life isn't like that though unfortunately, deceitful acts often succeed with no repercussions.
-
You gonna answer my question then? What you posted was interesting, however it doesn't explain Carra's contract extension and the timing of it. I can understand it was turmoil and I can understand that the players didn't know which way is up, but plotting behind the managers back, as Carra is being accused of, and undermining him in the public domain is more than just taking umbrage.
-
There isn't any ACTUAL evidence and you know that. Doesn't mean that it didn't happen. Do you believe that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone? Answer me this one question honestly and I'll never mention a conspiracy again. Where there any football reasons why Carra should have got a 3 year contract the day the club was sold to NESV?
-
There is plenty of evidence, you just choose to ignore it all. Nobody has a note from Carragher saying 'I done it' but there is plenty of stuff out there both in the public domain and 'insider' information. And there is the smoking gun of his massive contract extension way beyond what he could offer to the club that was signed the day before the new owners came in. If you have a rational explanation for that single event I'm all ears. As a player I think he's been a fantastic servant but shouldn't really be getting a start ahead of Coates in the league games. I absolutely 100% understand why Kenny chose to play him in the derby though.

Certain posters believe very strongly that he helped f*** over the best manager we have had in 20 years. He loses quite a bit of goodwill for that.
-
Carra was in bits. I couldn't believe how emotional he was. Boyhood blue, cares that much about us not getting beat by them. I was really moved by that.
-
Surely that is the biggest argument FOR goalline technology. The referee no longer has to guess, he just awards what he is 100% sure off. In this instance the video evidence would be inconclusive (unless you are ITV) and the refs decision would stand. The ref wouldn't have to be so quick to hand out penalties for that diving c*** at Old Trafford as well. They are massive decisions and unfortunately rather than go with what they are 100% on the refs try and guess what actually happened. Atkinson guessed it was over, with the benefit of replays he could say 'I'm not 100% it isn't a goal'. Chelsea can then appeal.

Anyone who posts negatively in the build up to a cup semi with Everton can get to f*** IMO. It's pathetic.
-
It is to me, why are you typing into your phone and reading what other people are typing into their phones when a game is on? A cup semi final no less. To me both actions are the actions of someone who is not fully engaging themselves in the activity in front of them. Like how I watch a road trip comedy.
-
I thought it was because Agger had strayed too far over and was in the CB slot and created the confusion. Barnsey said that was b******s though and to be honest I often look for a tactical reason for a goal when in reality it's just that Agger should have hoyed it into row Z with his right boot and he didn't.
-
That's a toughie, there have been times where I have been unable to watch the game and reading the game on the match thread by those kind enough to post the action is a godsend. I agree handwringing and blamestorming should be saved for after though.
-
All well and good but It was a cup semi final FFS, I couldn't have posted a thing during the second half primarily being on tenterhooks and then secondly cos I was too busy banging on the low ceiling above my head in the pub. I sent my sister a text pre game cos she was there. I don't understand how you can think of posting on here in the cut and thrust of a cup tie against the bitterest of enemies. It's like videoing a penalty while you are at the game. I just don't get it.

I think you have a footballing philosophy and ANY manager has to conform with that. The importance is that the players play the same way from the age of 11 through to the first team, so those coming through the ranks are ingrained in the style of play. This is what I think someone like Cruyff could do, he could set up this blueprint and help Kenny bring in youngsters who think that way. A manager hasn't got time to be scouting the best young players in World football and deciding if they will blend into the existing philosophy. That's what I think they are trying to acheive best on Cruyff's previous, we would play the 'Liverpool Way' at every level.
-
If I was any player who was playing below par I'd be worried. The summer signing's at least have an excuse. I imagine every player in the club would be excited at the prospect of better players coming in. Just ask Michael Owen, it's not about your contribution its about the silverware. Seriously though, if any of the current squad hopes we don't sign a player better than them in their position then we should get rid. It's squad game, the best squad wins the trophies.
-
To be fair two of them were pretty successful
-
IMO that is the only valid complaint, can he do this role at 64? If I knew what the role was I might have an answer ......
-
I know it's mental, it isn't all down to him but who the f*** would not want Johan Cruyff preparing the blueprint of the next 10 years. I can't think of anyone I'd rather put in charge of that. A god on the pitch and a track record second to none in this department. He wouldn't take any s*** either.

Aye, Tompkins is an internet prescence who cuts through the bulls*** of the media to present facts in defence of LFC. If I owned LFC and knew nothing of football but was very interested in statistical analysis in sport he is exactly the person I'd be asking for advice/opinion. Doesn't mean I'd do what he said but statistically they appear of like mind, a common ground so to speak. I'm really excited by what is going on, this smacks to me the actions of people who aren't just here for the ride, who have reflected and taken action. This is not kneejerk it's decisive. As an aside, it also gives me a warm glow to hear the yarn about the people leaving and their relationship with Purslow/Rafa. Could they be clearing a path, could they ??????

What a scoop !!!
