If Rafa is off the table and we are definitely working with a DOF he would probably be my number 1 choice

It means 'When you come at the King you best not miss' It's a massive decision to take, they better be pretty damn sure before they act.

The point was Dalglish should be sacked like Mcleish was after winning the Carling Cup, which he wasn't, he resigned. So comparing the two is moot. There is dithering and then there is getting all your ducks in a row. Sack Dalglish? From Liverpool? You better have some f***ing big balls to back that up.

I think Kenny will want what is best for the club, but it wouldn't suprise me if that is something different from what the owners think is best for the club.

He was headhunted by Villa not sacked.

If they want to sack Kenny Dalglish from the post of Liverpool manager I'd be more worried if they weren't scared to act. There isn't a more risky action to take in football, I reckon United sacking Ferguson would run it close. They have to have the fans, and to some degree Kenny, onside whatever they do. Kenny could bury them in a sentence and they know it.

Samson. Great joke from Murph though, fair play.

I can't believe no one has said this yet, maybe it's because he is the King, but surely the only sensible course of action at this juncture is to sack Kenny to end the speculation?

Is it that unreasonable that Clarke and Kenny have spent months preparing for a season review to the point where both know it inside out, Kenny has explained what went wrong this season, which Henry et al are happy with, then he has explained what the plans are going forward, which again the board like, the board have told Kenny and Steve the working constraints, which Kenny likes and Kenny has left Steve in the US because he wants to go to a baseball game, whilst he visits his son and then returns to go on per arranged holiday?

  12. 'Steve Clarke has done a magnificent job as understudy to Kenny and is a safe pair of hands whilst we scour the continent looking for a DOF and manager to take this club back to the top'

Arsenal have a dodgy defence, a porous midfield and RVP, they finished 3rd. Discuss
  17. I reckon it would be like that bit in Swingers "Hi John? You are there" "Don't ever call this number again"
  18. I'd love it just love it if he did. KK is not Dalglish, not now not ever, capiche? f*** off (see above)
  19. I'd take Capello, the start of his England tenure had them playing patient controlling football. I'd like to see what he was capable of in a full time role. He speaks some English now as well.
  20. Christ, this is like pulling teeth. If, heaven forfend, Mr Dalglish no longer had Liverpool Manager at the end of his name, in an ideal world, within reason, who might you propose. I propose Rafael Benitez, I believe he is available and would be interested, he has a decent CV.
  21. Ok, I was assuming, for the purposes of this thread, the assumption was that it was available this summer. So, apart from Rafa, who are the obtainable candidates?
  22. Don't say this often but I agree with this man wholeheartedly. What is the choice by the way? What managers are interested in coming to a club that lies 8th in the league? As far as I'm aware the only one who has his hat in the ring is Rafa, Martinez is flattered, I don't know of any others.
  23. We've just had our worst league season in 50 years, we spent £100m in the summer. Surely it's more about looking for reasons to KEEP Kenny not reasons for getting rid.
  24. Is that possible? In the last 3 seasons the board took £90m out in loan payments. In the year we won the CL we made £32m from the competition. Based on those numbers if they gave him nothing to spend every season he'd be better off.
  25. So what happens if Kenny steps down. Now, at this moment in time, 8th in the league, there is not a better manager in world football that would come to the club. I firmly believe that. We are potential, nothing else. We wont be signing the top players this summer, we need an eye for a player and a manager that can spot real talent (Alonso, Reina, Agger, Skrtel, Torres, Mascherano, Lucas) and allow it to flourish. I'd love to see Rafa without the ownership baggage in the summer (IF KENNY LEAVES) because it is a job that is made for him. Yes there are better candidates out there but none that would come. Personally, I'd rather Kenny stayed, I don't think this project is beyond repair, but if he steps down Rafa is the best AVAILABLE candidate based on CV, fit, age, and most other criteria.
