  1. Yeah, yeah, but what about those sexy secrets?
  2. At the end of the day though, do we give a f***, we know what he is, he isn't as bad a manager as he showed at Liverpool but he is clearly very limited. He's going to get torn limb from limb in the World Cup qualifying campaign when we play 4-5-1 away in Latvia. It's not our problem. He came, he insulted, he went. We now have a new and exciting era, let byegones be byegones, he's yesterday's chip wrappers.
  3. I thought it wasn't that bad an article to be honest. Wasn't exactly glowing in his praise of Hodgson and it definitely felt like he was dancing round the issue of Hodgson at Liverpool. Tactically, I think he has nailed Hodgson to the wall with that article. A spot on analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of him as a coach and why England could have some success in the tournament with him.

  6. It's a genuine real life 'Emperor's New Clothes'. We sit here going 'What the f***' whilst everyone else compliments Roy on his tactical excellence. It's truly f***ing mental how that bloke manages expectation down to levels he can hit. We will be hearing about that wonderful night in Donetsk when we crushed Ukraine 1-1 and went through on goal difference in 2nd place in our group.
  7. 'For those sceptical of his findings, McHale points out that his model predicted that Spain would win the 2010 World Cup'

  10. I haven't seen it anywhere else so thought I'd put it in here. Rodgers made a 'come and get me plea' to Sigurddsson. On the lines of, Glyffi is a great player, had him at Reading and Swansea, love to have him at Liverpool but it's down to the player as before I left I agreed a deal with the club so it is down to the player. I think he'd be a cracking signing, good attacking centre mid. Here we go http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/id/1085383/liverpool%27s-brendan-rodgers-may-swoop-for-gylfi-sigurdsson?campaign=rss&source=soccernet&cc=5739

As MD he shouldn't be cracking jokes about other chairman being comedians. If he had to say anything he could easily just have said this "Our aim from the outset was to conduct a proper, thorough, search and do it in the proper manner," Ayre told the Liverpool Echo. "From our point of view, we did all the right things. We approached the clubs we needed to approach, and conducted ourselves properly at all times. "It is disappointing, then, that Dave Whelan felt the need to run the kind of sideshow he conducted via Sky Sports News and various other media outlets. At one stage last week Whelan claimed Martinez had been made an offer by Liverpool, something Ayre denies. "That is patently not true," he said. "We make no secret of the fact we spoke with Roberto Martinez, but that is all we did. "He is a great guy, and I can't speak highly enough of his professionalism and conduct. "We can say with absolute certainty that the only person who was made any offer by Liverpool Football Club is Brendan Rodgers." Edit - Just to add, I can see the f***ing difference I don't get paid to do this s***. It's PR 101.

    Gerrard had already nailed it.
  13. Happy days, got to give this structure and the new manager time. Welcome B-Rod. To be fair they are all talking a very very good game. I like what I'm hearing on all fronts.
  14. Are you? I can't see us getting within 10pts of City no matter who we bring in, just can't see us closing the massive gap that we seemed to be able to close for the duration of 90 mins against a top 4 side but became a yawning gulf whenever we played anyone we should beat. I can easily see us finishing where we are this season as I can see a couple of big players leaving in the summer. B-Rod running the whole shooting match doesn't inspire me so why should it inspire players who would walk into teams that play in the CL?
  15. Think that is stretching it a bit but he certainly taught them how to zonal mark. Problem was, I believe, they wanted Kenny to be the DOF. They have f***ed this up by sacking Kenny before the DOF was in place, but as they wanted Kenny as the DOF you can see where the problem lies. They have now watered down the DOF to appease the candidate they wanted. Not good IMO.
  16. Isn't it sad though that we are saying with good management and shrewd signings we can get close to 4th. How far we have fallen.
  17. Well that has cheered me up no end.
  18. We need someone. There is no rationale for appointing Rodgers without some form of DOF when LVG wanted the job (manager). None whatsoever. This has to be part of a bigger picture ior they have made a complete b****** of this.
  19. I saw footage last night of RM smiling and walking as someone from Sky thrust a microphone under his nose. Unlike his chairman he didn't stop and talk a load of old b******s.
  20. That's just stupid, I was with you till that point
  21. The alternative is giving compensation to Whelan :shudder:
  22. I'm fed up of trying to figure out what the f*** they are doing so I've reverted to mindless optimism.
  23. This is what I'm excited about, it may all go t*** up but imagine if LVG and B-Rod implement a strategy that blows the competition out of the water. We start playing a brand of football that has not been seen before and nobody knows how to deal with. They are certainly aiming for the stars with this set-up, there is no 'lets just get a new manager in to replace Kenny' going on here. It's let's rip all this up and start from scratch and have LVG at the helm. Exciting times ahead.
  24. edit - too slow and incorrect
  25. It's madness isn't it. I'd want Rafa to do well, really well, if he went to Villa but I'd also want Liverpool to do better. I'm actually quite excited about Rodgers because it means that FSG didn't accept Martinez terms and they do actually have a plan and are sticking to it. I'd like a bit more of a clue as to what that plan is, mind, but all in good time ....
