  1. I can't get my head round anyone who doesn't think Walcott is good enough for us. What XI do they watch each week, it clearly can't be Liverpool's.
  2. Very true, one place we really don't need transparency is players wages. If it is confirmed that we are paying 70% of £115K a week for this lad you just know it will get raised when he misplaces a pass. I still reckon it's b******s that Arsenal walked for an extra £.5m. It's either b******s or really crap business.
  3. Surely that is a nonsense, he didn't go to Arsenal because they wanted an option to buy. Not because we said to Madrid we will give you £5m for his wages and Arsenal would only stretch to £4.5m. They make this stuff up on the back of a fag packet. We were prepared to have a great player improve us for a season, Arsenal were looking longer term. The end.

  7. That is not a ridiculous notion, what is ridiculous is Ashley Cole siding with this fella http://soccerlens.com/the-john-terry-controversies-a-complete-list/86817/
  8. Surely he must have at least left some fireworks off in his bathroom or stopped his car in the street to verbally assualt some rival fans? Surely.

  10. Google suggests you are talking out of your a*** if you type 'spurs andy carroll bid 30m' The question is not how much we paid for Carroll that was dictated by market forces, the question is could we have managed with just David Ngog as our striker available in Europe for half a season. A lot of people thought no we couldn't and that buying Carroll was therefore the right thing to do. From one of those articles A source close to Ashley said: “Mike knows Spurs are just playing a game, trying to get a top striker on the cheap. But he feels that to offer £25m is an insult. “Spurs’ cash offer of £22m is actually less than Aston Villa will end up paying Sunderland for Darren Bent, and that cannot be right. “Andy was 22 last week while Bent will be 27 next Sunday, and while Mike is obviously biased he feels that taking everything into consideration Carroll is worth a heck of a lot more.”

  17. Played as one of a front 3 surely Steven Gerrard is a candidate for that role. Sahin tells me were getting someone good.
  18. If that happens I'll be getting the giant foam hand out. USA USA USA
  19. Why didn't it happen with Henderson and Downing, did Kenny not lash big bucks on them? And why didn't it happen with Keane but did with Aquilani. The 'glimpses' post nailed that. I saw glimpses of true class in Aquilani, a player much much better than the alternatives. Carrol shows glimpses of being an unplayable monster of a centre forward. Hence the division amongst the fans. Nothing to do with who signed them. Vlad is another player who should be on this list. Paddy Berger is an example of a glimpses player who turned the corner, in an out under Evans but complete class under Houllier. I'd argue Lucas is another. When they come good they really are worth the wait.
  20. What he said doesn't make sense in the way he says it if he is intending to belittle Carrol. The essence of what I read from it is he isn't scared of Carroll as a player but is scared of Suarez. Hardly surprising really - Massive dominating centre half in tricky skilful forward nightmare shocker. Ask Brede Hangelaand the same question.
  21. There's a song Wooah, we've got the shortest midfield in the world Joe Allen, Jay Spearing Raheem Sterling and Kévin Gameiro---ooooooo
  22. It might do now as he has had the 'more money' for several years and might leave them for footballing reasons. I'd be chuffed with Walcott as he is better than what we have currently.

  24. RP said if they pay £22m Agger is gone and that Agger wants to go to Barca. That doesn't exactly tally with what you said, so maybe that isn't IT as you put it.
  25. Me, it should read young players that have plateaued at a small club. That was Barnes problem, neither Walcott or Johnson are at a small club. They have already failed to make the step Barnes made coming to Liverpool. Hence your analogy is tosh ;-) For the record I'd take Johnson on loan, not for any deal with Agger mind, he's better than what we have already and I reckon a run of games might get him back to his best form. If it doesn't no harm done, send him home.
