    I currently, cannot think of anything that would give me more pleasure. Sack Rafa today, get an interim 'Interim' manager and finish 5th, f*** it, 6th behind us. I would be laughing until August.

    Which is fine, but when both full backs bomb on and the centre half is drawn wide by the striker then it creates a chasm in the centre of the park. Both Mascherano and Hamann were great and helping out the centre backs in these situations. If you let both full backs bomb on and only have one holding midfielder you are effectively 3 at home whenever play breaks down. This gives far more 1 v 1's than most centre backs are comfortable with. This season we haven't the balance right IMO.

    BOOM! Agger is a top class centre back, he's a class above anyone else we have. We need to protect the defence, Lucas alone isn't enough.

    Good point, it is odd. I was trying to highlight the weakness mentally that City have but you are right the comparison doesn't bear scrutiny.

    They were 8pts behind with 6 games left last season. Not that different this season. United are a machine, City aren't. I think Mancini will go in the summer.

    I think it showed why it was a 34 years drought between titles for City and a 4 year one for United. Desire. Once they won the league the desire went.

    For me, we have to finish in a European place, otherwise it's a f***ing write off of a season. Last year we were in a cup final and won a trophy. European qualification in the league would be an 'improvement' in terms of league form.

    but if a players shot is saved and he teammate scores the rebound the first player gets an assist. Giving a goal and an assist to the same player is insane.

    Giving the goal is the easy decision, Cech has to see red otherwise, brave ref who does that 1 min into a EC semi final. I wish someone would mention this fact from time to time, the ref/lino DID NOT DO US A FAVOUR, quite the opposite in fact.

    It's over half my life since we won the league. I'm up for a few empty titles now.

    Is that not happening in the Liverpool v Swansea thread though, surely this thread is more focussed on the long term.

    Then we would have lost/drawn with a team that didn't turn up which is criminal. Of course the reaction would be different. I thought we were brilliant against City and said so but our inability to hold onto a narrow lead bit us in the a*** again. Lots of positives but an equal amount of negatives.
