You have to take cups into context as it is extra games that have to be played, thus stretching the resources. It's far easier to play 15 less games in season and get results in 40 games than it is to get results in 55. Therefore cup run have to be taken into context. If we had not had a CL run in 2005 Rafa would have accrued an extra 5-10 pts in the league because he wouldn't have been juggling his squad. The less deep the squad the more cup runs are a factor also. Brendan has achieved nothing this season, no threat to any competition, we have played some good football at times but is that enough? The players stopped playing in the league after the CL was gone, we became a cup team, why Kenny let that happen I can't answer. Interesting that in the first two batch of 19 games Kenny was head and shoulders above Rodgers.

I'm staggered anyone can think this season is in anyway comparable to last season except in terms of points garnered in the league. Edit - actually we were quite a bit below 2pts a game (1.78) after 19 games (34pts) and there wasn't a blip as such after Suarez, there was after the Arsenal game though.

Kenny at the end of 2010 and start of 2011 seasons had us averaging over 2pts a game. That virtually over a whole season. People said, no pressure, nothing to play for but he still did it. This team has had no pressure since February, where is the massive surge in results? We got to two cup finals last season, we were not the 7th best team in the country.

To add to this, 15pts of 4th at Xmas would have you 16th in the table 3pts above the relegation zone. Is that what we are talking here, a Hodgson level of ineptitude is required before we question Rodgers? We were 8pts off 4th this season despite our 'horrendous' start.

It's alright though because we can bask in the glow of the the 3 extra league points we have achieved this season which will keep us warm till August.
