  1. FFS "Where Guus Hiddink was given a £200,000 watch by the players"
  2. Depends who those bodies are to be honest, I don't trust FSG still so it's hard to optimistic about losing knowns and the quality of the unknowns coming in. That said Coutinho and Sturridge were great signings.
  3. I never said we were shaky at the back, I said we will be shaky at the back because of the fact that we will have a brand new defence. We can't just assume that because we have had a decent enough end to the season that we can make changes in the summer and carry on upwards, we could just as easy take a step back. He played in all the 8 games being highlighted as a solid defence didn't he. We wont have that partnership next season.
  4. Yes, a defence that is being broken up in the summer.
  5. True but we are losing 2 of 4 and leaving Agger as the only established centre back. I will be very surprised if come August we are rock solid at the back. I am worried about multiple things there are no goalposts just concerns. Not when Suarez is back from his ban, no. I am happy with a 3 of Coutinho Sturridge and Suarez with Downing and Sterling as cover. That's pretty good IMO possibly could do with one more. I worry about midfield and defence mostly.
  6. 3 of those games were against the teams that have been relegated and we still only won 4 and drew 4. Long long way to go before we can start to think that any area of the pitch has been 'cracked'
  7. We are losing Carra and Skrtel this summer, that suggests to me more defensive issues that need to be resolved.
  8. Incredible what he has done considering the two most senior players in the club wont give him the time of day
  9. This is my major concern, it you extrapolate the good from the season we don't finish top 4. We are losing two recognised centre backs leaving us with one outstanding but extremely injury prone one and a very good young player who hasn't settled. We also need a dominant centre midfielder. Are these 2/3 massively key player going to a) be bought b) hit the ground in August. I think attacking we are fine but the same defensive issues are going to be present next season so if 35 from 19 is the absolute best we currently have in the locker I don't think we are going to seriously challenge for the top 4 next season. I just think this strategy has risked losing Suarez and wasting Gerrard and the side we had under Rafa was a top 4 side that lost it's way, now we are looking up at 5 stronger teams and better squads. Next season is going to be really tough.
  10. Surely you should know that when comparing managers from different seasons then the only true barometer is the league position at the end of the year. The cups are irrelevant.
  11. a nice little run I believe it was called at the time
  12. I've just checked it, it was September until the end of November we went 8 games unbeaten in the league. Sat 29 15:00 Norwich City 2-5 Liverpool October 2012 Sun 7 15:00 Liverpool 0-0 Stoke City Sat 20 15:00 Liverpool 1-0 Reading Sun 28 13:30 Everton 2-2 Liverpool November 2012 Sun 4 16:00 Liverpool 1-1 Newcastle United Sun 11 16:00 Chelsea 1-1 Liverpool Sat 17 15:00 Liverpool 3-0 Wigan Athletic Sun 25 13:30 Swansea City 0-0 Liverpool

    Carra

I read it fine the first time thanks On the one hand the little credit should be given to the manager for the improved perfomances of Gerrard and Carra and yet on the other hand the improved performances of Lucas, Maxi and Kuyt are greatly credited to the manager.
  14. In December when we had an 8 game unbeaten run

    Carra

    Haha EH 1 DH 0
  16. f*** that, I want to win the league at some point this decade, hopefully Pellegrini will only be Ancelotti level of good, the Mourinho experiment blows up in Roman's face, Moysey is well Moyse like and Brendan steams up on the rails to win the league in about 3 years time. If City got Rafa and backed him it could be like Mourinho at Chelsea.
  17. We need to stop saying this as I really don't want Rafa going to City. I reckon he would be awful, he's devisive he'd fall out with Aguero and Silva and he isn't fit to lace Mourinho's boots. City should stay well away
  18. I took at as a dig at Brendan not Rafa. No need for that really from Kelly.
  19. It's not a massive claim to fame as during that time we had two managers who overstayed their welcome by a year each, and its slightly ironic as the one that you didn't back was the one that didn't need to go.
  20. He was still competent, I wouldn't say he was a good keeper for that reason but he was decent enough at Newcastle, City and Villa. Jones on the other hand doesn't command his area or even his 6yd box and looks like a rabbit in the headlights
  21. You don't think Shay Given is a competent goalkeeper?
  22. Shay Given is number 2 at Villa, grab him, get the Reading lad. I'm purely looking for competent here not close to Reina in quality.
  23. That doesn't matter because it doesn't interest them. They want the league, they want the CL, they don't get the same joy we got in 2001 because they don't value the competition. He's going to deliver them their 5th European trophy and they can't wait to see the back of him. What is it about Rafa and the number 5
  24. He really isn't, he's a dreadful keeper, every team around where we want to be has an able backup keeper, granted Pantiwhassisface has looked a bit ropey. Brad Jones is awful.
