  1. If I were in Swan Red's position and having read that interview I would consider the £100 gone, in effect Molby's money not mine. Therefore if Suarez stays, it is worth £200 to me.
  2. More like 'I want to receive the loyalty bonus that is in my contract and I am definitely not asking for a transfer'
  3. double post
  4. I agree with your first sentence but disagree with the second. He lead the line at Bolton and did a great job and thus far he has lead the line great for us. Yes, he makes mistakes but he is still young. Unless we are buying a ready made top drawer striker I don't see why we would be looking to replace him. I have seen no evidence of him being injury prone since he came here just rotated out of form, when he got a run he was very very good.
  5. I don't care how he fits in the formation - go get him Brendan, we need lots more good players now.
  6. Is Sturridge any worse than Defoe, Adebayor, Giroud, Podolski, Ba or Torres? He's in that group for me, plenty good enough for a top 4 challenge.
  7. If we hadn't signed Coutinho I would be a lot more worried about Luis leaving. Coutinho and Sturridge are a very good 9 & 10. Taking Suarez out maybe we should build around that instead. Spend the £40m complementing what we have got rather than trying to replace Luis.
  8. f***ing pragmatism is all I need at the moment.
  9. True, but putting clauses into contract facilitates those circumstances and that is what is f***ing me off.
  10. Is he worth less than Torres was when we sold him?

  12. Pepe has done his time, waited around and now Barca are coming calling. He's gone, don't blame him a jot.

  14. The best thing about this idea would be Ayre's face as he is shown the door.
  15. It's f*** all nowadays, probably half what he was on at City. Fantastic signing, he's got 4 years in the tank probably.

  18. One where we won a trophy, were in two cup finals, and within a realistic shot of the top 4 until van Persie stepped up. We fell off a cliff, but there were tangible reasons why it could happen. I trusted Kenny to see this and fix the problems.

  20. Re Brendan, I thought I did, if he can win 11 of 14 at some point next season like Arsenal just did, then I am very much in. Re FSG, they will be lucky, Brendan won't. It might seem unfair but IMO sacking Kenny and hiring Brendan was an unbelievably stupid decision. I suppose if they back him and bring in the right players then that part wont be luck but hiring a winning manager would have been.
  21. It is their fault because they sacked Kenny, to sack Kenny and replace him with an inexperience manager is a ridiculous decision. Sometimes people make s*** decisions and get lucky. I don't feel obliged to give those people any credit for their decisions. No, because I didn't think Kenny's end of season was anything other than the players focussing on stuff they could win over stuff they couldn't. Kenny's signings were attrocious BUT he earned another season to put it right. If I had wanted Kenny gone then yes I would have wanted Rafa back as he would be the best man for the job IMO.
  22. I think what you have to ask yourself Flight is are Coutinho and Sturridge the direction the club is taking or is Assaidi and Yesel. As long as we have a good scouting network in place then I have no problem with us spending heavily on youth and bringing in older heads for free. Kolo Toure looks decent business on a free, Begovic for £15m if Reina goes looks like the right sort of move. More like January and less like last summer and we should have a strong squad come August. My major worry is that Suarez will be sold this summer.
  23. Sorry, I misunderstood when I replied. I have tried to separated how I judge Rodgers from the fact that I didn't want him to replace Kenny. I find it very difficult to separate the sacking of a manager from the appointment of his replacement, so yes you are right. but if you have, IYO, the best man for the job at the helm surely anyone is the wrong replacement.
  24. The decision to hire Rodgers was wrong, because the decision to sack Kenny was wrong, IMO, so the two have to be separated. The decision to hire Rodgers was questionable based on his lack of experience, last season showed nothing that didn't validate that position. I have never said that Rodgers cannot be successful here, I think it is less likely that he will because he doesn't have the experience, therefore it will be more luck than judgement on FSG's part if he is successful. I don't think that is inconsistent.
