  1. They wouldn't have Bale, who did everything for them last season. They would be starting from scratch with these new players that they have to persuade to come to Tottenham who are not in the CL and who would now look less likely to be so.
  2. Bale leaving Spurs is fantastic for us on two fronts 1. Spurs are massively weakened. 2. Real are less likely to follow up on Suarez. If we keep Suarez, Bale goes to Madrid and Arsenal sign no-one of significance I'd take that now.

  5. I still suspect that we have 'sold' Reina because he was getting paid too much.
  6. I don't blame Rodgers for this, he's made his position clear. I blame the person who negotiated the deal.
  7. If your ex boss rang you up and said he was looking forward to working with you again before you had heard anything about it would this please you? Liverpool should have told Reina about it not Rafa.
  8. Probably a dig at Ian Ayre, as when he should have been phoning Pepe to inform him we had accepted an approach he was too busy sitting on Robbie Fowler's shoulders. FOP
  9. He said the first he knew of it was Rafa phoning him, i.e. Liverpool had agreed to loan him without telling him that Napoli wanted him. It's not a huge deal but it must have been a surprise to have your ex boss ringing you in his role as your new boss (Rafa probably assumed Reina would say yes immediately)
  10. I don't remember Maxi Rodriguez getting this grief, or Craig Bellamy. Is it just the fact that Barca are really good that is putting people out, not that a player wants to leave for personal reasons but that 'for personal reasons' he wants to play for one of the best teams in Europe. He would always have walked over hot coals to play for Barca, there just wasn't a vacancy until Valdes said he was off. Goodbye Pepe and good luck and I hope you get to play for Barca at some point.
  11. Liverpool having a completely unproven young keeper and Brad Jones as their options going into season is definitely a bad thing. He was worth his money far more than other members of squad that we are still pissing money away on. Lets hope Mignolet is a good as he is being touted because Reina was a f***ing great keeper and is still only 30. Bye Pepe and good luck at Napoli/Barca.

  13. They have just seen the queue for passport control. They are probably still queuing now.
  14. I don't mind the owner stating on a public forum that Arsenal are pissing in the wind, as long as they are .... He will look pretty daft if we sell Suarez to Arsenal for £45m next week.
  15. I'm not sure anyone is going to pay £50m for him, I might be wrong but I think all interested parties bar Arsenal are relying on Suarez to agitate his way out of the club and for us to cave in. Arsenal are being used to test Liverpool position.
  16. I'd f*** him off to Madrid for £30m tomorrow. Chelsea, City and United are spending too heavily to get near, Arsenal don't have that pull (yet). Suarez going there moves them a massive step nearer to that group and establishing a new 'top 4'. That for us is a desperate situation. I am happy for the club to pay a player £5.5m to sit in the stands to avoid that happening. Obviously I'd rather sell him abroad but beggars etc..
  17. I think it's what they were contractually obliged to do. A bid over £40m came in so we have to notify Suarez and let him talk to the club in question. We clearly don't have to sell for this figure which was what Suarez agent thought. So 1-0 to our legal team.
  18. I'd rather he play for the reserves for a season than sell him to Arsenal.
  19. We need him to not be at Arsenal to get in the CL. No highs though, you'll will be just drifting through time with Brad. When he finally leaves you will wonder where the time went and wish you had done something more. When Coutinho leaves next summer I will have had a golden summer of perfectly weighted through balls with the outside of a left peg to keep me warm in those long dark winter nights.
  20. Exactly, fans hearts are made to be broken, my entire emotional outlay has been moved to Coutinho. Luis who?
  21. Two Uruguayans smiling for a picture with a small girl in a Uruguay top. Tells me nothing that. What was his body language like before, during and after the game today?
  22. He gave it another year, last year and he scored 23 league goals, what more does he owe us. We finished 8th and 7th and he is arguably the 3rd best player in the world. We can't even offer him european football.
  23. What looks a done deal? That Suarez wants to go to Arsenal, tough s***, we don't have to sell him to Arsenal, we don't have to sell him at all. Selling him to Arsenal would seriously reduce our chances of making the CL.
  24. I didn't realise that was our first choice attack for the season, Coutinho will be gutted.
  25. Ok, for the first time I am enjoying this. JWH is on the same page as us re selling to Arsenal. Crack open a cold one and enjoy the journo meltdown.
