It's the price vs worth issue. You are right to say that what ManU did should not affect what Barry is WORTH to us. However, it does mean that if you want Barry, that might be the PRICE that you have to pay.

ManU has paid 18 million in two consecutive seasons for Hargreaves and Carrick. These players, while different kind of players from Barry, are of the same level (English, International etc). I see what you are saying, and unless Liverpool is worth a lot more than what is apparent to most of us, I too think that the deal that is more abt the intangible than the immediate tangible profit. Regardless the case, until I can see with own eyes, the benefit that thay can bring to LFC, it is difficult to wholeheartedly welcome them on board. I just don't know if this is a case of frying pan into the fire scenario.

As a fan, that's obviously what I'm hoping to be the case. This would however run contrary to what their initial intention was when they first engage LFC 12 months ago. I thought it was clear, from the leaked documents regarding sales after seven years, that they were seeing the purchase principally if not solely as a money making deal.
