  2. Hi Spike, I know they've registered him with missingpeople.org as they're linked on the Google site. Other than what I've seen there and the Sussex Police report I don't know. The only person I've communicated with is Takeshi from the Japanese Supporters group. He's posted on the Facebook group here: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=123488147686084 Do you mind if I put him in touch with you for some tips?

  6. How would you like to inspire the squad ahead of Wednesday night’s crucial encounter with Tottenham Hotspur? Well, tonight on This is Anfield we give you that opportunity. Live at 10pm, LFC TV give you the fans a chance to lift the squad and deliver a unique team talk to drive us onto a Champions League finish this season. Put yourself in the manager’s shoes – it’s minutes before kick-off, what do you tell the players before they head onto the pitch? It’s been a season of struggles so far but now’s your chance to tell the players exactly how they can get back to winning ways. We have a home shirt signed by the entire squad to give away to our best caller of the night, but you only have 30 seconds to impress our guests Brian Reade and Alan Kennedy – so make it count!

  8. I'm hoping to be there after work, hopefully along with several others from .tv Owenthomas, is your brother in law Gary or Mark?
  9. Hi, Bill Shankly's bond with our supporters is the stuff of legend. There are countless stories of how he helped supporters and always had time for people. You may have seen an article on the Official site recently requesting those who had met Bill Shankly to get in touch? We're hoping to get as many of these stories together in one place, it's a way of ensuring they're not lost. If you know someone with a story to tell please ask them to get in touch. If you have a story to tell then we'd love you to share it with us. Please email shankly@liverpoolfc.tv with details of your story AND a contact telephone number and we'll be in touch soon to arrange to involve you and your story in our celebration for Bill Shankly Week. If you know someone who met Bill Shankly and has a story to tell but doesn't have access to email or the internet, please pass on this request and ask them to telephone Jake Hargreaves on 0151 293 8785. If there's no answer, please leave a message with your contact details and Jake will ring you back. We're also looking for any interviews with Shankly. We are interested in tracking down footage of Bill Shankly being interviewed or speaking. Do you have anything on either VHS or DVD that you think may be of interest to us that we could borrow? Or maybe you have an interview with Shankly talking on CD or in a digital format? Whatever footage you've got of the great man talking about his life, please let us know by sending an e-mail to shankly@liverpoolfc.tv. Please title the E-mail "Shankly Footage". Finally, I thought I'd share this account from Boston Sox on the Official LFC Forum. I think it captures the generosity of the man:
  10. On Thursday night, we're going to be filming a special edition of Press Box on LFC TV - where all the questions will come from supporters. If you've got something you'd like to ask our three guests from the media, this is your chance. Post your questions here and we'll try and get you the answers in the show. The three members of the media who will be in studio are: Tony Barrett, The Times Andy Hunter, The Guardian Rory Smith. The Telegraph It should be a good show. If you have any questions put them below and I'll give them to the Producer. Cheers

  12. What’s your favourite game of the eighties? That’s the subject of tonight’s Special 80’s themed This is Anfield as we turn back the clock to an era of domination at home and abroad as the Liverpool side of the decade steamrollered all before them. During the show we’ll take a look back on five of the best performances from the eighties, including the 5-0 demolition of Nottingham Forest and the 9-0 romp against Crystal Palace. Not only that, but we’ll remember a trio of derby wins that defined the era as Red and Blue battled for Merseyside domination. Also on the show, we’ll be talking about preparations for the new season as Wednesday night’s friendly with St Gallen looms on the horizon. Who are you expecting a big season from? Can anyone from the reserves make an impression on the boss before the big kick-off? And how do you see the team shaping up come August the 16th at Spurs? The Reds appear in good shape for another tilt at the title, but are you worried about some of our big-spending rivals? Can the likes of Manchester City spend their way into the top-four? And do you think that football has gone money mad? Give Claire Rourke a ring from 9pm tonight on the usual number – 0845 234 4567 with your thoughts. Anfield Legend Jimmy Case joins The Times’ Chief football Writer Tony Evans in studio to take your calls, and don’t forget, if you’re on Twitter you can also get in touch through www.twitter.com/lfctv
  13. Monday's 'Great Debate' on LFC TV asks which was the greatest LFC Game of the Seventies. We're asking for your thoughts on your favourite game from one of our greatest decades in the clubs history. From the drubbing of Newcastle in the '74 Cup Final to the drama of St Etienne there were goals and performances to savour. It was the decade the club began it's proud tradition of European success and won its first European Championship. Not to mention superb league victories such as the 7-0 annihilation of Spurs. Tommy Smith and Peter Hooton are the guests, with Matt Critchley and Claire Rourke hosting proceedings. The Official website will run a series of polls and we're asking for your calls too, not just on the greatest match but your views and memories of a decade that started with Shankly's rebuilding process and ended with Paisley's awesome side setting new standards of excellence at home and abroad. The show runs from 9-11pm on LFC TV. In the meantime please share your thoughts on the greatest match below and I'll ask the Producers to take a look before the show goes to air. We'll be taking calls on Monday from 8:45pm on the usual number, 0845 234 4567
  14. This is Anfield: Transfer Speculation There's a special 'This is Anfield' tonight on LFC TV. They're looking at the transfer window speculation so far and asking supporters whether they're happy with the players LFC have been linked with, or the rumoured departures? If there's a player you think the club should be in for, or one that you definitly don't want to see depart then tonight is your chance to have your say on LFC TV. They're taking calls from 8.30pm tonight on: 0845 234 4567. Jimmy Case and Historian Frank Carlisle will be in the studios giving their views and it's also 'Scouse Week' on LFC TV. So there'll be a chance to pay tribute to the local lads who have served the club well over the years. The Producers will hopefully take a look at this thread later and may put your comments to Jimmy and Frank but if you want to be heard the best way is to give us a call!
  15. Did you travel away to watch Liverpool during the late seventies and early eighties? And if so, do you have any photographs or film footage of you and your fellow Reds from this time? LFC TV, the club’s official television channel, is in the process of making a new documentary about a group of Liverpudlians during this period and to assist us with our research we are on the lookout for any photographic or video evidence that may exist. It could be of supporters on their way to one of the many cup finals we contested between these years or perhaps off another continental jaunt. Alternatively, it could even be of fans simply in or around Anfield. If you think you may be able to help then PM me or contact mark.platt@liverpoolfc.tv with further details.
  16. Many of you will already have seen LFC's new Facebook page but we're officially launching it today with an exclusive video featuring Pepe Reina's guide to his LFC teammates. It's worth watching. If you've not already been to the Facebook page you can find it via www.liverpoolfc.tv/facebook and if you already know about it please tell your mates and ask them to visit. I'd also be grateful for any feedback on the page. Cheers http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/drilldown/N...090518-1308.htm
  17. There's a small number of booklets left. They've already gone to Gordon Brown, Andy Burnham, Patricia Hewitt, David Cameron, Nick Clegg and many more. As before however, if you know of a good home for one of these booklets then please speak up. They're a powerful educational tool at any time but at the moment in the right hands they may just do a bit more good.
  18. Most definitely. A few people worked really hard to make it happen and many relatives went to extraordinairy lengths to get a photo to .tv but I think all felt very strongly that it was an important way of respecting those fellow supporters who perished.
  19. Yes, thankfully. It was very close to the deadline but with help from many quarters we managed to get all 96 . The montage was very moving, I found it a tough watch but very effective at showing the individual rather than simply 'the 96' There's a lot of the programming available free to view here: http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/archivedirs...090415-2203.htm but the montage isn't included, not sure why. Oh and mods thanks for the sticky which can be removed now. Cheers.
  20. I'm sure the authors would like to know his thoughts Hels, thanks for that. I saw Stan at Anfield during the Chelsea game but didn't speak to him.
  21. Thanks to Admin for stickying this. I know that a lot of the booklets have now gone out, not sure whether there's still some at HJC but many are already sent. As well as virtually every media organisation one could think of they're now en route to many politicians. I know however that there are still some booklets in the hands of the organisers. So I wanted to quote this post again and especially stress the 2nd para, in case anyone here may know someone to whom a booklet should be sent.
  22. Apparently that's his head mate. I didn't believe it either at first but look again.
  23. LFC TV approached him and he agreed to do the interview. LFC TV made it clear that there were certain questions that had to be asked and did so. He refused to be drawn on any of the legal questions or the absence of an apology. There will be a right of reply from Margaret Aspinall and Jenni Hicks following the interview followed by a phone in where reds can react to the interview.
  24. SEVEN PHOTOS NEEDED FOR HILLSBOROUGH MONTAGE Paul Rogers 11 April 2009 LFC TV needs just seven more photos to complete our montage of the 96 victims of the Hillsborough disaster to mark the the 20th anniversary of the darkest day in the club's history. On April 15, we aim to feature the faces of all those who died as a result of Hillsborough on both the homepage of the website and the TV channel. On LFC TV, a photo montage - with one picture following another -will be shown with the name of each individual placed below the photo. The photo montage will be set to an appropriate musical soundtrack. Thanks to the help of the families and friends, we've managed to acquire 89 photos which means we are missing just seven photos. The photos we are looking for would feature the following seven supporters: David William Birtle, 22 Raymond Thomas Chapman, 50 Alan Johnston, 29 Joseph Daniel McCarthy, 21 Inger Shah, 38 Peter Reuben Thompson, 30 Martin Keneth Wild, 29 If you can help us get in touch with any of the families or friends of the seven supporters named above, we would really appreciate it. If you have a photo of any of the above, you can send it to Hillsborough, LFC TV, Media House, Unit 14, Matchworks II, Speke Road, Liverpool L19 2RF - obviously we will return all pictures sent in - or the photo could be emailed to Hillsborough@liverpoolfc.tv. Whether the picture is emailed in or posted, it is essential that the following information is included: # The name of the person in the photo # Your name # Your Relation to them (Family, Relative or friend) # Return Address to send photo back (doesn’t apply to email) # Contact Number If you can help in any way, it will be much appreciated. If you can't help, but know someone who can, please pass on this message. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to get in touch via email Hillsborough@liverpoolfc.tv.
  25. The HJC got one box this morning and hopefully there'll be more soon in time for the memorial. Hopefully fanzine sellers can take a few and distribute too. It's important though that the booklets aren't simply spread amongst our own support because although it's good for everyone to know the facts to an extent that would be preaching to the converted. If you take 1 for yourself at least take another for your local library/school/MP or newspaper. I was hoping some of the regulars here at YNWA might have an input on this phase of the project as I know there are people here with connections in Politics and Academia. Please do contribute if you can, this is on one of the best chances to make a difference that's likely to occur and it's very time sensitive - once the brief flurry of media interest around the anniversary dissipates it will be twice as difficult to get through. So please, get involved!
