Must have been Sturridge here in Australia, too - what an idiot! As for the beach ball incident: 1. It defies belief that the goal was allowed to stand. I can only assume that the referee did not see the incident clearly - otherwise he should be stood down, suspended, whatever, until he completes a refresher course (fat chance, I know!) 2. Bruce's comments don't stand up - on the one hand he suggests that the goal should probably not have stood, yet says that you would need to be a 'saddo' to know that rule. So, deep down he actually knows the rule but doesn't want to admit that it should have been disallowed. That incident changed the game massively. It gave them tremendous confidence and hit ours for 6. Most people on here were talking all doom and gloom before the game, saying that we'd struggle without Torres and Gerrard added to the fact that most players were coming back from international duty and we were playing a side high on confidence away from home. Then we have that go against us... If we had played as we did and made it to the last 10 mins at 0-0, AND we had scored a late winner most people would be heralding it as a fabulous backs to the wall performance. As an aside, Kenwyne Jones - is he the new Drogba?
