  1. If you hate it, just keep calling it Torres
  2. Lucas Torres Reina
  3. He says over £30m in the interview... There's a part of me that can't believe it's over, like it's too good to be true and we'll get dragged into the whole mess again via the damages claim. But watching that interview and hearing him make claims that can so easily be ridiculed by the club accounts, etc. makes me realise that he really has lost his marbles (if he ever had any). Just can't believe we were ever owned by this lunatic.
  4. I think they're normal operating loans, though - which any business would have. They're not these massive loans that are required to pay off the actual purchase. Has Sky published Hicks 'fact sheet'? That would be interesting/comical...
  5. OK, thanks for that - was just wondering.
  6. Given that you think the club will be sold soon, but it's not the party that you had info on before, does that mean the party you had info on is now out of the picture?
  7. Same here
  8. Worked hard in a tight game. Didn't do fantastically well in attack, but neither did anyone else on the park (us or them). If there wasn't already a long-running thread on him, I doubt anyone would be bothered enough to start one based on that performance...
  9. Bang on - Neill is daft (and that's putting it nicely).
  10. 1. Mascherano 2. Kuyt 3. Carragher
  11. 1. Lucas 2. Kyrgiakos 3. Reina
  12. Aquilani Agger Degen
  13. He was asked about it after the game yesterday and said that it was a very tight situation (yesterday's game) and that Mascherano, Lucas and Gerrard were all doing very well - so felt it was better to leave things as they were. Indicated that he wants to give him a run but that the circumstances haven't been right (maybe that includes Debrecan as well - for whatever reason...)
  14. Reina Insua Mascherano Special mention to Dirk for the celebratory slide!
  15. I really hope this is his breakthrough game. He definitely has the ability, I feel, hopefully he now has the belief! I also thought he was very intelligent with a couple of the fouls he gave away, where we had poured forward and lost the ball in the final third. It looked like they could have set up a decent counter attack and he calmly made the 'I'm just being a bit clumsy (to snuff out any potential threat)' challenge before any pressure was realised.
  16. Yeah, I think Rafa spotted it last year. Vidic is good when the play is in front of him, and a bit ordinary when he has to turn. At Old Trafford last year we constantly knocked balls over the top forcing him to turn - and he takes an age to turn. I think other teams have noticed this, too, as he's been caught out more often with the 'dinked' ball between the last line and penalty area since that game. Jones' goal for Sunderland is a case in point. The cross was spot on as it caused Vidic to turn and he couldn't get there to put in a decent challenge. Personally, I'm happy for Utd to think they've got the best defender in the world, though...
  17. The best thing I can say about his performance is that he was almost anonymous. Did what he had to do, organised and assured those around him, and played the ball quickly - and in a game like that, where everyone was going mental! Very, very good performance.
  18. Benayoun Lucas Torres
  19. What's that quote- "if you stand still, you go backwards"? Well we've gone backwards in the first part of that phrase (at least until we see what AA has to offer...)
  20. Yossi Kelly Agger
  21. He'll need to work hard by the looks of him - appeared to be carrying a few extra pounds (even for one so young).
  22. Must have been Sturridge here in Australia, too - what an idiot! As for the beach ball incident: 1. It defies belief that the goal was allowed to stand. I can only assume that the referee did not see the incident clearly - otherwise he should be stood down, suspended, whatever, until he completes a refresher course (fat chance, I know!) 2. Bruce's comments don't stand up - on the one hand he suggests that the goal should probably not have stood, yet says that you would need to be a 'saddo' to know that rule. So, deep down he actually knows the rule but doesn't want to admit that it should have been disallowed. That incident changed the game massively. It gave them tremendous confidence and hit ours for 6. Most people on here were talking all doom and gloom before the game, saying that we'd struggle without Torres and Gerrard added to the fact that most players were coming back from international duty and we were playing a side high on confidence away from home. Then we have that go against us... If we had played as we did and made it to the last 10 mins at 0-0, AND we had scored a late winner most people would be heralding it as a fabulous backs to the wall performance. As an aside, Kenwyne Jones - is he the new Drogba?
  23. I loved Xabi, but I'll settle for that!
  24. 1. Torres 2. Benayoun 3. Kuyt
