Just to get off talking about Chelsea, The National Football Museum in Preston invited some of the game's stars to nominate their favourite books. The full list is: Martin Jol (Spurs) Old Man and the Sea - Ernest Hemingway Paul Simpson (Carlisle United) Billy - Pamela Stephenson Hope Powell (England) I Know Why the Caged Birds Sing - Maya Angelou Steve Cotterill (Burnley) Beyond Winning (Human Kenetics) - Gary M Walton David O'Leary (Aston Villa) Kane and Abel - Jeffery Archer Graham Souness Fourth Protocol - Frederick Forsyth Steve Bruce (Birmingham City) Frank Sinatra 'Biography' - Martin Smith Sam Allardyce (Bolton Wanderers) The Soul of a Butterfly - Mohammed Ali Jose Mourinho (Chelsea) The Bible Billy Davies (Preston) Sacred Hoops - Phil Jackson David Moyes (Everton) Animal Farm - George Orwell Alan Curbishley (Charlton) Bobalong the Brownie Man - Agnes Grozier Herbertson Mick McCarthy Da Vinci Code - Dan Brown Sir Alex Ferguson (Manchester United) Treasure island - Robert Louis Stevenson Wayne Rooney (Manchester United) Harry Potter Series - JK Rowling Paul Jewell (Wigan) Bravo Two Zero - Andy McNab My only comment is I am surprised Wayne Rooney can read, and Kane and Abel - Jeffery Archer. WTF

Its not the 23 you have to worry about. There is very little dabate about the squad. It is what he tells them to do on the pitch that bothers me. Engalnd have a very very good squad but a very unbalanced midfield. Cole Becks Gerrard and fat frank is not a balanced midfield As such it ends up the 4 midfielders all doing whatever they feel like, Playing for themselves only. I would drop either frand or stevie and play parker as holding midfielder but sven does not have the balls to do it and relys on individual skill or luck.

Quality Observer article on BBC TV footy punditry
Greenoak replied to Cunny 's topic in General Football Discussion
I dread Jonathon Pearce on the world cup. He will do his usual fake accents for players names which does my head in. If he does an italian game he just sounds like a london pizza boy with all his del pierrrrrooooooo. He makes every players name about 20 letters long. Hyypia becomes hyyyypppppiiiiiiaaaaaaaaaaaaaa -
I am spending a week at the world cup campsite and going to a couple of games. The campsite has done a deal with becks so that what i will be getting drunk on. 95 days and counting

PLAYER PROFILES CALUM WOODS Team : U17 Date of Birth: 5/2/87 Position : Defender Nationality : English PLAYER PROFILE Calum hails from Anfield and has been at the Academy since the age of 10. Under-18 Academy manager John Owens said: ?Calum is normally a right back but is quite adaptable to playing left back. He is quite tall but physically his upper body strength is not quite there yet but that will come. He has a very good touch and is good on the ball. He can pass and is an attacking right back. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Adam Hammill Date of Birth: 25-1-88 Position : Midfield Nationality : English PLAYER PROFILE Under-18 Academy manager John Owens said: ?Adam is a player with a tremendous range of skill with his step overs and natural movement on the ball. He is a first year with promise and excites people with his natural ability. He plays like Cristiano Ronaldo albeit on a different level but he can open up defences. What he does need to work on is he needs to use his skill at the right times and in the right areas. In a perfect situation the role he would play in your side would be similar to Joe Cole, as Adam has the ability to play in the hole just off the striker.

Bolton Wanderers v Olympique Marseille
Greenoak replied to Earl Hafler 's topic in General Football Discussion
And a massive crowd of 19200 paid to watch it. BIG Club Bolton -
The best one when he said a c**k up between him and Fowler was due to him not speaking English. What a dick head.

Have we been included in the medias "big three" yet?
Greenoak replied to ricflairandy's topic in Liverpool FC
I have noticied that too. He has bought a load of very young U21 internationals and it is a team in transition not what the f*** is he buying fringe players and selling the best off for. Gets praised for flogging vierra as good business and replacing him with kids. The a*** are a club run by the property beancounters. Robbing the club to pay for the flats. Even the ammers are on their tales. tHEY MAY NICK 4TH PLACE BUT I HOPE THEY DONT -
He was bloody useless in the box. He will be gone in the summer as will Cisse. A VERY expensive mistake, and Crouch is not much better. 2 useful players OUTSIDE the box but crap where they meant to be and where they do the damage. We have 30 mill of strikers that are no danger to defences. We will be lucky to get 10 mill for all 3. We have wasted so much money on strikers in the last 10 years it is not true. Add spit the dog and Heskey to the list. And Heskey is the best of the lot.

When was the last time we scored directly from a corner?
Greenoak replied to a topic in Liverpool FC
kewell took a few as well its got to the point of not cheering a corner -
I have got a ticket for that game. Problem is there are no hotels I can afford and hostels all fully booked. Can fly for £80 return but no idea what to do about accomadation. I may drive over and sleep in the car. Dont know what to do but just pleased to get a ticket. Frankfurt looks a weird place.

Thats cos Chelsea fans have no songs so all they can do is the chants they hear on match of the day. t***s every single one of them. Yet again we play Chelsea and Gerrard and Lampshade were both s***. I think they both get confused and keep looking for guidance from Sven.

Goalies for sale at present Swartzer at boro - very short contact. Older than Dudek - want 2 plus Pompey have bid over 2mill for Robert Green. Almost an internation first div goalie Sorry we have to get more than these 2

You can bet the cheque book was used a fair bit to grease the whells here. Just another resaon to dispise them

Yet again Spurs get lucky. Not content with getting 8 / 10 mill from chelscum as a bribe for the admin bloke, they now get 7.5 mill for 3 rejects and a ton off the wage bill. Harry is used to dealing with euro cast offs and very low fees, well now we know why. He cannot be trusted to spend wisely. Sorry but 2.5 mill players are usually decent players but this lot are non playing rejects with very little prem experience. Would have been better off plundering the top players from Div one, cos that is where they may be again. Sorry Harry you cocked up. Bet Spurs spend it much more wisely.

Is it me or is the media opinion of Liverpool FC
Greenoak replied to Bootle Buck's topic in Liverpool FC
Just look at the back of almost every paper today and its all Liverpool this Liverpool that, other than a small bit on chelsea rooing it all over mancs They were all saying good things about is and Crouch. You just need the t*** Lawro talking us up and we will be in real trouble. That would just leave Chelsea Fan Beglin. -
