It was off the back of a brilliant start to the season and our trip to become champions of the multiverse and I think there was a (desperate media) narrative that we might struggle. Instead we put in one of the most complete performances anyone can remember.

I think this is a good point - for the last few challenges every dropped point felt like the end of the world because city were so relentless. Despite relatively low expectations going into the season, now we’re in a title race it’s hard to shake that mindset. 4 points from utd in any season is a good return.

I saw that and thought the same - like the look you give a child when everything has failed and you’re just left with disappointment in any game, but especially against these, you have to win your individual battles. Today trent just surrendered his whole side of the pitch and the basics of the game to try and look ballon d’ory.

Yeah - they made those changes and adjusted their tactics in a way that gave us issues. roy Keane is actually talking a lot of sense. Bad day. Move on.

He’s been wonderful for us but as with a number of players we should be looking at his successor- the owners failure to build our position of strength is going to mean we need serious investment soon.

They hit a nadir against Newcastle and this was the perfect fixture for them. We obliged with a poor poor performance. Hopefully that’s out of our system and we can crack on with a bit less pressure on the next 2 games. I am ok with not seeing Trent play for us again.
